I have the yellow version of this from a few years back. I don't believe it was impact rated. I tried using it to drill holes in tight spaces to run electrical wire in a shed and it was nearly useless. You still somehow need to put force on the top of the bit to provide driving power. This seems better suited to remove screws in tight spots. If driving in screws, you still have to apply force to keep the bit from jumping on the phillips head of the screw. You can probably mitigate this by using torque or square head screws.

I have successfully used this with Irwin Speedbor for the same purposes: to drill up from inside an existing cutout and down through the top plate where the roof line made it difficulty to fit a longer or even bendable bit. the speedbors self-feed, so what you describe is less of a concern with those.

Agreed, I tried using one the other day to put a screw in. Pain in the butt.

Yes you do. it is still worth buying them when they go on sale, if only for the single time it saves you an hour of frustration. Also this Dewalt one never broke on me, even with an impact driver. I had a cheap silver 90* that was smaller and fit into tighter spaces. That one shattered into pieces during the first use. Hope this helps someone.

I tried using an Irwin Splade-Blade and one thing I noticed was my Yellow right angle adapter got pretty hot. Then that was trying to drill a hole going nowhere through a 2x4.

Been using mine with some frequency in a mechanic shop for awhile with a 1/4" impact. Works great, especially if you run halfcut bits (Mayhew being my favorite). It did develop cracks around the magnetic collar, but hasn't broken any chunks off yet. It's more compact in most dimensions than Milwaukee's version. Highly recommend.
