That was petty barren. I might get the ziplock variety pack but otherwise I think I'm safe from Costco.

There's still that Groupon deal for a $65 membership that comes with a $50 Shop Card of you're looking for a deal on that. The higher membership ($130) comes with a $100 off $200 order coupon online along with the $50 Shop Card

https://www.groupon.com/deals/n-c...yLRsVC_jYh

Edit: Need to be a "new" member or not a member for 18+ months
You're always paying to shop. Whether the costs are baked into the item price or if there's a "club fee", these companies need to pay for their buildings, employees, and other services.

Costco front-loads some of that in the membership fee, but item prices are generally cheaper and quality generally better than their competition. There's a lot of additional services you get access to as well through the membership which helps further justify it.

You pay Walmart (and other low-cost grocers) through your taxes (since their employees are almost always on governmental assistance) as well as low quality for comparable items. Grocers with similar quality have higher item costs per item.
There are some items @ Costco that cost multiple times more if bought at a typical grocery store, and the savings - for just one item - can easily cover the $65 Costco membership. Here's just one example:
Costco: Generic Zyrtec - 365 pills @ ~$12
Meijer: Generic Zyrtec - 300 pills @ $34
Meijer: Zyrtec - 60 pills @ $34 (or 360 @ $204)

Besides that, there are many other items Costco carries (nuts being another good example) which are generally better sourced and cheaper than anything you can find elsewhere.

they dont even need sales, I happily just shop there, because its always better priced than anywhere else locally. you think Costco's bad? my grocery stores barely have any sales at all on the stuff I buy. so its all evened out.

Not too earth shattering on the "sales".
I used to enjoy shopping at Costco just to see what was new which in turn would sometimes convince me I needed it. lol Over the last couple years it feels a lot more like Sam's Club where it's just the same old thing all of the time only moved around to here or there sometimes.
That's not even bringing up the prices. They're not all that special any more if you have an Aldi for the grocery part of shopping. Meijer even competes on some things. I bought new eye glasses recently and those turned out disappointing even though the price couldn't be beat for what I was looking for. I've bought eye glasses from them 3-4 times and only once did I have zero problems.
Their hotdog is still great though. lol

Look, I'm wayyyy to much of a Costco fangirl myself, but let's not take the praise Je5us cuItist mindset about it. It is not always better priced, I personally compared pricing between Winco and Costco to find you could usually buy similar products for the same price, or lower, and not have to lug home a full case. Examples include canned pineapple, canned corn, canned beans, etc. I didn't do an extensive test on things, but one thing is for sure: Costco rotisserie is cheaper than Winco. Their sale items are typically a better price, but regular priced merch is not. The difference was pennies, I admit, but the allure of not buying a full case? That was worth its weight to ME. Between my kids and husband, I can usually get through what I buy, but let's face it: no one needs a case of cream of mushroom unless it is regularly on the menu.

I'm in for Cheetos crunchy!

Still waiting for the Lay's honey butter potato chips to arrive in California. They are in the Washington warehouses at $6.29. Hopefully everybody will get them.

Anyone know if the Titan 40-Can Collapsible Cooler will fit in the back of a golf cart??
it has a soft bottom and sides, so it should squeeze in if it's not filled to the max

If you follow the news most retailers have made some adjustments to prices based on tariffs. My guess is Costco would rather minimize the sales vs. raising more costs across the board.

"Executives of the warehouse club retailer told investors on Thursday that tariffs have forced the company to tweak its supply chain and raise prices in some cases. Costco has absorbed tariff costs for some goods, while it has increased prices in other instances, said CFO Gary Millerchip."

The costco shopping experience is a cesspool compared to BJ's. Wonder how much their SD budget is to push this onto front pages
Wouldn't know.

Being married and in Texas, BJ's aren't available to me.

Wife has lost interest in doing it together so I end up going solo at Costco.

Sometimes I wonder if the Sam's around me could offer the same BJ's experience, but I have just never found myself very attracted to their appearance.

Agreed. Better pricing on food if you shop sales at your local grocery store for a smaller sized family.

You are brave to make this comment to the cult members, they're already disliking every comment that goes against their Costco faith. I agree on everything you've said. WinCo is definitely superior for every day items. Even Sam's Club I'm finding better priced stuff than Costco, even for things that are literally the exact same.

Since Costco's ad seems to make FP every month whether or not there are any hot deals, can we start getting weekly supermarket ads on FP too?

BJ's may be devoid of crowds of people but they are waaaaay understaffed and the whole place has a ghost town, wondering when they'll finally shutter the place, vibe. Still a member for the cheap gas and quick essentials since it's closer to me than Costco but they a"remain a distant third on the list of membership clubs for me

Not sure what you mean here.

I've been a BJ's member for probably 15 years, used to do a lot of shopping there then transitioned to Costco maybe 4-5 years ago.

In-club BJ's has a much more low income feel to it. The clientele but also club cleanliness, staff attention/attitude, etc. So much so that I don't really like going in club there for anything, it's practically depressing.

Now on the purchasing side of things, you're right. BJ's is literally 1/10th the size company Costco is, but their online shopping presence is leagues ahead. Curbside ordering, in-club stock (which Costco just added a few months ago), express pay, etc.

We do not have a Winco,(East Coast here) and Aldis prices have gone up in my neck of the woods...very comparable to Walmart now.
