It's not the charger, it's the lack of controls on most phones. If I plug my pixel 9 into a charger like this and the battery is low it will charge at 27W. Yeah, it will get hot.

Sadly manufacturers are doing little to address this. instead they're adding features to slow charge overnight, or to cap charging at 80%. But if you're using a high power charger during the day and your battery is low your phone is going to suck everything it can (up to the limit of the phone) and there's nothing you can do about it.

I keep a bunch of lower powered chargers around to manage this. Sucks you have to do that.

According to reviews this can only really output 90 watts, and the voltage droops as you get near the top of the wattage range. No PPS.I'd recommend avoiding this one.

Sorry chargers don't do that - modern phones regulate the energy consumption themselves.

Spigen makes good phone cases. Their electronic gadgets that I have seen are not as good as Anker, Ugreen, etc.

Avoid this charger. Junk, no PPS, a lot of heat, and due to its poor quality, would cr@p your devices long term probably.

I've had this for a few years now. I bring it along with me when I travel since its compact and it charges my m1 macbook pro just fine. It does get pretty warm when charging but so far, its still works and I have no issues.

Just gotta make sure to use the lower port for the 100 watt charging

Are people really mad at this charging brick? Or mad it fast charges their phone? Any brick I use to fast charge my phone regularly has affected my battery and caused it to get hot

Agreed. The only charger I've had that's died is a Spigen. Then they were annoyed and asked me to send a video of the malfunction when I submitted a warranty claim for a $15 charger

I keep buying their cases though—they're awesome!

Can't wait for very legitimate companies to find out they can put 100 watts on their product if that's how much heat it generates
