No, I wouldn't recommend wearing them in slippery conditions. What I do is keep handy an old pair that I've attached some Kahtoola EXOspikes to. They still keep my feet warm and dry, but I don't have to struggle with attaching the spikes every time it snows. Yes, that was a shameless plug for the EXOspikes. They're fantastic.

I currently have a pair of a similar variant of these shoes. Super comfortable, but not super durable. Great for normal hikes in US national parks, but if you are going up Mt Everest definitely get something else.

I think they run true to size.

Nice! (Referring to the gift cards)Yeah, I've been wearing the many variants of these boots/shoes for at least 5 years. They seem to change the name and some design features every year or two. I'm a fan. VERY comfortable for me and I even think they're a little stylish — much better than the clunky hiking boots I see from other manufacturers.
