I don't get the claim that this smells exactly like Aventus. It might be a distant cousin, but it's clearly not a quality scent. It smells like you took a half of a lemon and dipped it in an ashtray. With that said, it's not like it stinks, you just have to be cool with what it is - definitely not office friendly. It's a loud, borderline intrusive scent. Think car rental counter guy (and not the name brand car rental places like Enterprise and Avis, the offsite places that you knew you shouldn't have booked) with polo with zero buttons buttoned, those jeans with faded creases in the thighs and weird back pockets, and loafers with no socks. That guy wears this. Other than that I have no thoughts about it.

When I first got back into colognes, I got some. After a few days I put it in the trash.

Yikes - I definitely don't agree with most of the comments (and that's okay). If you're an avid cologne enthusiast, this probably isn't for you - or you might just think it's not for you. This was recommended to my wife as an "Aventus" knock-off. She's loved the smell and has been making sure I'm stocked for the last two years.
I've also never gotten so many compliments (in and out of the office) about how good it smells vs other sub $100 scents. I thought the scent was a little on the weak side and wore off quickly, but just standing in a coworker's office doorway draws a compliment, and the "what are you wearing?" question.
***Quick background for those who care: I work in churches, and typically around folks (like myself) who don't have substantial incomes, so perhaps my comment can be viewed to reflect the tier of scent that I and folks in my "bracket" would typically be accustomed to… no hate, but a real lens people look through.
Bottom line: If my wife likes it, that's all I care about. When other people notice (in a positive way), then it's icing on the cake.
You absolutely can't go wrong for the price, and at one-two sprays a day, it can last up to a year. If you're on the fence, I'd say go for it 👍🏻

Glad I'm not alone, had high hopes for it (having never tried Aventus before). I just don't get the hype.

A lot of folks don't realize the opening is harsh the lemon scent. It's the dry down you want after 20 mins that's the real scent and when you get compliments. Fragrances are always subjective but the opening is always controversial. It's 20-30 mins, it takes affect.

So you're saying this is a boxer dropper? Got it.
Same. I absolutely hate it. I thought people loved it and it just wasn't my style.
Same here
