The 40% off works on their pop-tart type pastries. These are actually pretty good too.

Toxic? Lead and Mercury are toxic, Sucralose is definitely not toxic.

Every single food thread on SD is filled with people shouting their UNSOLICITED dietary advice. What's worse - 99% of these ass hats make a claim without any substantiation or citation, just 'look it up' or 'do your own research'.

Here's a thought: if you're entirely unknown, have zero credibility, and zero expertise - your suggestions without proof or citation just sound like the rantings of a lunatic and are immediately disregarded by everyone who reads them. If your goal is to convince or convert someone, put in the effort to make a solid argument. If your goal is to simply parakeet what you read on some other shitty website, then you're a dick.
Super pricey.

Man, I snooze, I lose, I was really looking forward to trying some of these, I've heard great things about them (for being a protein product... The bar is low for low carb high protein junk food)... Oh well, guess I'll just make my own low sugar cinnamon buns and sticky buns again and have a protein shake on the side...

Still, I like the convenience of just opening a package and getting both in one.

The study this cites had no control group for people that didn't already have cardiovascular issues. Furthermore, while the study appears to be behind an embargo, the EurekAlert news release page says, "The authors note the importance of follow-up studies to confirm their findings in the general population. The study had several limitations, including that clinical observation studies demonstrate association and not causation."

Without that control group, and without further studies, I don't trust that.

There was a time food items like these were cheap and delightfully good for the price.
Now they're expensive and smell of chemical.
I wouldn't go that far. I grew in the 80s/90s where everything was sugar and preservatives with little acknowledgement of dietary risks. Not much has changed considering we've just swapped one bad thing for the next.

Don't let the 'good old days' put unwarranted rosy glasses on you.

I recall when I was a wee bit lad in the 90s Little Debbie snacks, Twinkies, Ho-Hos, etc.. tasted quite different. They used real sugar and not high-fructose corn syrup PLUS I do not recall them smelling of chemicals !!
