It depends on what paint is on the furniture now. If the Rustoleum is real lacquer, it will lift the old enamel.

Thanks, it's going over the original green paint on outdoor metal chairs from many years ago. When you go to their site, it does not recommend the lacquer for metal even though it says it on the can and the product page.

Enamel. Lacquer dries very fast and is good for building coats and a super glossy finish and metallic finishes.

Enamel takes longer to dry, but will be much more durable on outdoor furniture.

You could use lacquer, but it won't last as long outdoors as enamel

Anyone know if this can be used to clear the haze off the small solar panel on my outdoor solar lights? They are plastic.

I wouldn't recommend spraying white anything over a solar light.
