My wife and I did this deal earlier. Ordering was easy and we each got the Iphone 14 plus. We ported GV numbers, which wasn't horrible either. Then the issues began. Once or twice a week our phones would go into SOS mode and we would spend hours on the phone or chat trying to get the esims reactivated. It was a TOTAL nightmare. When we bought them, it was 60 days to unlock only, no requirement for the 60 days of paid service as well. We fought with them on this multiple times and were basically told tough shit. We ended up paying for the second month of service on each phone. After 60 days, the phones did not automatically unlock. Several more calls and chats, we were told that our phone were not eligible even though we already did the 60 days. We filed multiple BBB and FCC complaints and we finally got the phones unlocked and switched them to Visible. This was our experience and I can only warn any one thinking about Total Wireless that their support is terrible and that's being nice. At this point I would go with ANY other provider than them.

Total has been a complete nightmare to deal with if you have any issues just as an FYI

I was able to unlock my 16e by moving service into the lock phone for the second month. My sister uses total so I lend her my phone for a month. Swapping is hassle but didn't have to pay second month

I think it checks if you have service at 60 day or not. Her number was totally different than what I activated with.

How long does it take to become a new customer? I just did a similar deal on a 13 that ended last month. I broke my screen smh! A new screen from Apple is over 200$ I'm considering buying a new phone instead. During the 3 month period I had total I just forwarded my mint phone number to my total phone and it wasn't a big deal.

Isn't the 14+ with one month of service at the same price a a better deal instead?
That is what I was thinking, especially with the Cap 1 shopping rewards of $120. You do have to buy another month of service to unlock, but I think there is a hidden $10 plan you have to call in to get.

Yes exactly, hopefully capital one offers doesn't have an issue. I do see 120$, trick is activate it and leave it for few days. Also, if you used a referral code for 5000 points then you can use that to buy additional month of service as the new unlock policy may need 60 days of service

CS definitely sucks. Their phone deals and byod deals are fire though. I have been happy with them.

If they honor them. I had an account they refused to honor the byod deal after the first month; I had to port back out to a different service

Any way to get around the port-in?

Use google voice to get a phone number and use that number to port in

The iPhone 14 was one of the worst, inferior to the 13 due to weird software glitches. Don't buy this model just to save money, you'll regret it.

Could you expand? This is a contract, they can't just ignore it. I'm thinking if them in the future, so it would be good to know what caused this. Also did you lodge an FCC complaint?

Sure. I made two accounts porting numbers in from Spectrum. One account is still receiving the 50% off byod discount. The other account received the discount the first month and then was going to renew the next for full price. First they told me the $40 plan didn't qualify for the byod discount until I pointed out their website shows the $40 plan with the discount. Then they said it had to be a port in from Metro or Cricket. It didn't matter that one account from Spectrum was actively getting the discount, that their terms do not state you have to port in from those services, that I got the discount for one month even after stating I was going to port in from Spectrum, or that I made the initial purchase before they started comparing the 50% off deal to Metro and Cricket.

I should have lodged complaints, but it just became easier to port that number back out.

You had to just buy another 30 days of service and you can very well use reward points if you have points right?

You will not be able to use the 5000 referral to buy the second month of service because those points will not vest until day 61. The points are not usable until after the third month has been paid.

Is it really worth it for the ID verification?
