Just tell CS that the activation form is not letting you port in your google voice number and they'll give you a new number. GV numbers no longer work so they'll just offer to give you a new number.

My wife and I did this deal earlier. Ordering was easy and we each got the Iphone 14 plus. We ported GV numbers, which wasn't horrible either. Then the issues began. Once or twice a week our phones would go into SOS mode and we would spend hours on the phone or chat trying to get the esims reactivated. It was a TOTAL nightmare. When we bought them, it was 60 days to unlock only, no requirement for the 60 days of paid service as well. We fought with them on this multiple times and were basically told tough shit. We ended up paying for the second month of service on each phone. After 60 days, the phones did not automatically unlock. Several more calls and chats, we were told that our phone were not eligible even though we already did the 60 days. We filed multiple BBB and FCC complaints and we finally got the phones unlocked and switched them to Visible. This was our experience and I can only warn any one thinking about Total Wireless that their support is terrible and that's being nice. At this point I would go with ANY other provider than them.

I was able to unlock my 16e by moving service into the lock phone for the second month. My sister uses total so I lend her my phone for a month. Swapping is hassle but didn't have to pay second month

I think it checks if you have service at 60 day or not. Her number was totally different than what I activated with.

You will not be able to use the 5000 referral to buy the second month of service because those points will not vest until day 61. The points are not usable until after the third month has been paid.
But won't most of the folks already have a first line with moto g, moto razr or the iPhone 13 deals? and they would anyways have to use for 60-90 days to have their existing devices unlocked. Again I should say's ITS YMMV as people maybe on different boat

Does that mean we can use our current phone number to receive a text to authenticate, buy, and when we get the phone, we just choose the 'select a new number' option?
If it says "number port in is required" during activation, simply chat with CS and ask them to activate it and tell them that you want new number when they ask. That's what I did for my 2 phones. No port in at all!

Sure. I made two accounts porting numbers in from Spectrum. One account is still receiving the 50% off byod discount. The other account received the discount the first month and then was going to renew the next for full price. First they told me the $40 plan didn't qualify for the byod discount until I pointed out their website shows the $40 plan with the discount. Then they said it had to be a port in from Metro or Cricket. It didn't matter that one account from Spectrum was actively getting the discount, that their terms do not state you have to port in from those services, that I got the discount for one month even after stating I was going to port in from Spectrum, or that I made the initial purchase before they started comparing the 50% off deal to Metro and Cricket.

I should have lodged complaints, but it just became easier to port that number back out.
Good info, so the BYOD is now just cricket or metro? I will check that out. I have a few bucks of cricket so maybe I port there for a few months then potentially port but sounds like CS is a nightmare so maybe I look elsewhere.

When it comes to canceling the line after the initial 3 months of usage, is it hard to do? (I don't need to keep the number) Unenrolling the auto payment and leave the phone in the drawer will automatically cancel the line?

Wait what? I ordered the white one and received black as well. When I contacted them, they wanted me to return the phone first and wait for 30 days to receive a replacement in white. I tried to argue with them and they were like "fark off", we don't care. This is the first time I've received such a response from a customer service agent.
If you wanted white, I guess you have no choice. Color doesn't matter to me and nobody reached out to me, so I have no reason to contact them to update them on their mistake.

** Be aware! **
I ordered my Moto Edge 2024 from Total Wireless in April, and the phone has SIM unlocked after 60 days of service. However, I found the *eSIM* of the phone wasn't activated and the eSIM is disabled(greyed) today and I chatted with their support, they couldn't activate/enable the eSIM on my phone.
The Moto Edge 2024 definitely has eSIM on board, so they just enabled the physical SIM but not the eSIM. I felt being fooled Frown
Any suggestions, thanks!

ESim is greyed out because its not being used on Total android phones. To activate different carrier ESIM you use QR code scanner pull drop down menu on android from top scroll over. Or Network>mobile networks>download new sim will open the QR code scanner also.

I don't get an option to "add eSIM" or open "QR code" like I did on other two of my Moto Android phone.
Please refer to the two pictures I got from this Moto Edge 2024 phone.

I used the phone to download the "Firsty" app through Google Play, it said my phone is not compatible, but when I tried another unlocked phone of mine(Moto G Stylus 5G 2024), I was able to download the app. This also confirmed something wrong with the eSIM.

Did try click the icon beside ESIM not configured turn off airplane mode first. also you can scan esim with QR code scanner under quick action menu on home screen pull down twice from top so it open full menu then scroll over to find it.

Android 15 on Moto have new layout with download ESIM option looks like phone still on 14

"the icon beside ESIM not configured" is greyed out(as you could see in the attached screenshot).
Currently I don't have a QR code of eSIM to scan from. I was trying to test eSIM with the "Firsty" app, which could be installed on other unlocked Moto phones I have(such as Moto G Stylus 5G 2024). I was able to see "add eSIM" on that phone even it's also Android 14.
Thanks!

Ah, that's the trick! My bad! THANK YOU!

I still can't download the "Firsty" app from Google Play, showing "Your device isn't compatible with this version". I don't know why, but it worked for my iPhones, Moto G Styles 5G 2024(same Android 14) with eSIM...

Any buyers should genuinely consider iPhone 14 SE, for specifications and longer trade-in value
