Just tell CS that the activation form is not letting you port in your google voice number and they'll give you a new number. GV numbers no longer work so they'll just offer to give you a new number.

My wife and I did this deal earlier. Ordering was easy and we each got the Iphone 14 plus. We ported GV numbers, which wasn't horrible either. Then the issues began. Once or twice a week our phones would go into SOS mode and we would spend hours on the phone or chat trying to get the esims reactivated. It was a TOTAL nightmare. When we bought them, it was 60 days to unlock only, no requirement for the 60 days of paid service as well. We fought with them on this multiple times and were basically told tough shit. We ended up paying for the second month of service on each phone. After 60 days, the phones did not automatically unlock. Several more calls and chats, we were told that our phone were not eligible even though we already did the 60 days. We filed multiple BBB and FCC complaints and we finally got the phones unlocked and switched them to Visible. This was our experience and I can only warn any one thinking about Total Wireless that their support is terrible and that's being nice. At this point I would go with ANY other provider than them.

I was able to unlock my 16e by moving service into the lock phone for the second month. My sister uses total so I lend her my phone for a month. Swapping is hassle but didn't have to pay second month

I think it checks if you have service at 60 day or not. Her number was totally different than what I activated with.

I tried getting GV number but I get error "Google Voice is not currently available for this account". As per google search, GV expects a brand new forwarding number. So unless you have a number that was never used with GV, you can't get a new GV.
How do you get around this? Or any other way to get a cheap new number?
You need a non-voip number to activate it. Do you not have one? If you do not ask a friend or family member and just use theirs - and have them give you the 2fa code

Yes you'll need another wireless number to generate a new GV number -- the best option is to use the old GV number that you ported out to create a new GV number so its ready for next time

Lets say you used your reg cell number to create a new GV number (GV1) -- you port out GV1 to Total/VZ

GV1 is now a VZ wireless number once the port is complete -- use GV1 to create a new GV2 number so you have GV2 available to use in the future (instead of leaving your GV account empty)

See if a friend or family member will let you use their number for GV

US Mobile has $10 2gb plan but you'll need to wait a week before their online chat will give port out info -- might also have to use it for few calls/texts since they don't like people creating numbers for porting out

Tello has plans starting at $5 (might charge $3 for sim/esim) -- not sure how long until they give port out info but you can probably use it to create new GV number if there's a delay

It happened to me as well but reward amount was credited to my account automatically the next day after I activated the phone.
So I am trying this again, however activation issues and ended up activating esim instead of physical sim so hoping the charge still gets credited to my account - really do not want to have to deal with customer service - I initially activated yesterday but had so many issues and with it activating multiple times and rep just had me reactive on esim. It was quite a headache

Also my first line ends 10/15 because thats 3 months from 7/15. But my 2nd line is also showing that it ends 10/15 even though I activated yesterday/today. Rep said its a glitch and not to worry.

Edit: It posted! Worked like a charm . So this one $165 - $111 - $15 = Slick! (for 13)

Any one has experience with iPhone SE 3 unlocking? My son wants iPhone SE 3 only due various requirements like small form factor, finger print sensor etc.
If I port out his number before 60 days to avoid next month charge then will the phone be still unlocked b/c policy states 60 days of active usage? Or is it better to get a temp number to port?

that's it, to port a number out of total is where the problem lies👍
What's the issue in porting out? I was hoping to use my main number for 3 months and then port it out again.

Any way to get around the port-in?
Just buy a number for 5 bucks at numberbarn. I did it with total wireless a few months ago on my now unlocked iPhone from them.

My experience with port out was not bad. It took couple of hours to complete. No issues. Online somewhere there is an option to generate pin. Yes, it is hard to find. It worked for me. Account number is IMEI of the phone.
There is another option to generate port out pin that customer service had suggested although I did not try that. Text NTP to 611611 and the account number is the IMEI/serial number of the phone

Yes you should be able to text FOUR to 611611 to get the last 4 digits of the account number then use that to determine if your account number is the IMEI or another identifying device number. Dial *#06# on the phones dialer then match the last four.

DISASTER: I tried to port my Tello phone number to Total Wireless and was going in circles with support on the phone for an hour on a Sunday evening. After i realized the support person had no clue, she started saying, "i cannot hear you and will hang up" of course she hung up on me and when i tried to connect to support they said they were closed. an hour wasted....Tello ported out and my old phone went SOS. And my Iphone 13 from TW did not activate. I have no working phone now. I called Tello so see if they could reactivate my phone and they said too late, it's ported out. I could try to work with TW to port it back. I found out that TW chat was still open, hoping that I could work with them to fix, but after an hour of try this and that, reset your phone to factory, reboot, try this and that it was clear they had no clue to get my esim activation. They finally escalated at midnight and of course the higher ups were all gone.

Buyer beware!

Any cheaper plan that we can use after the 3 months period? My kid was asking for new phone connection and wondering if I can switch to a different provider after unlocking the phone.

After the phone unlocks you can take it to most any other carrier. I won't say "any" carrier because I can't be sure, but certainly most major carriers.

I did both license first time, and after a while I tried passport it worked as well, will try license again soon. Not sure how long you have to wait but it has been close to 6 months now.
