I believe this one does require a neutral wire, which older switches might not have.

Tapo requires you to use a Tapo app. I don't know that it matters much for light switches, but for cams, tapo vs kasa can matter when it comes to compatibility with 3rd party software like iSpy as well as some features being locked behind subscriptions. My impression is that kasa was selling full products at a higher price whereas tapo sells cheaper products with limited features so that they can better spread their products while still giving them a way to make more money with additional paid features.
