Not a very close shave. I had better luck with a no-name $35 model off amazon that has the 3 circular foils instead.

I have a Braun series 8 and I'm wondering if there's any real difference between all these foil shavers. The heads seem the same, aside from my braun being able to tilt.

I have this and an Arc5 and they are vastly different. Arc5 gets a close shave, this does not. I keep it in my briefcase as needed for hitting the 2 o'clock shadow if I have an afternoon meeting. Would not recommend as primary daily shaver.

Every once in a while they'll innovate like with the Braun Series 9 Pro, but that's the dirty little secret of foil shavers - a lot of the time spending up just adds goodies like a cleaning station or an added tilt to the head, but the foils are very similar across all the 3-foil shavers.
