Basically minimal wind or even lifting the lid too fast causes the fuel/oxygen mix to get out of wack. It sounds like a jet propane burner, but also doesnt heat well when it happens. You can fix it by turning the burner off and on again, but it happens constantly. Replacements parts did not fix any of it. You'll find the same story around the internet. Months of dealing with it only to need to return it, was a horrible pain in the butt.
Simply put, the freestyle and rogue have a major design flaw. I'd take a $50 walmart grill over either one. The high end models are fantastic though (Prestige).
