I just got the 32gb, 1tb version of this without a SD card reader and paid $2k for it, well the company did. This is a Killer Deal! Gorgeous screen and I believe the GPU is fed something like 100w unlike the Dell XPS that is like under 50 watts.
Downside, it is a TankPad. It's huge and thick and the screen is wavy like those big TVs and mine was not touch screen either. You won't notice the screen waviness unless there are reflections and from an angle. Overall you can't beat this price plus you're going to get Lenovo rewards to get some overpriced accessories.

Surprisingly the XPS 15 that it replaced was heavier than this, mostly due to aluminum vs plastic case.

Specs are excellent but cpu is one gen old, now days untra 2 is better as it comes with 50 npu for copilot and better hello support, otherwise excellent specs

No, the Arrow Lake CPUs do not come with an NPU (and Intel doesn't provide 50 NPU). Lunar Lake CPUs do come with an NPU - those CPUs end in a "V" and are not H-class like this.

I have a 185H with an NPU

Might you be confusing the P16 with the P16s (Slim)? The P16 is thicker and heavier. This P16s only comes with a 135W charger -- I'd be surprised if the GPU were drawing 100W on a 135W charger. I've had a number of P16s laptops pass through my hands and a "tank" is not a word I'd use to describe it.

Any adantage to buying this from Lenovo direct vs. Ebay in terms of returns, restocking, ability to extend warranty, etc.?

Ebay seems sold out, so the advantage goes to Lenovo direct. It is under "Perks for Work" so you might need to qualify.

If size is a concern, P16s:
0.81" x 14.24" x 10.06"
Starting at 1.82kg / 4.01lbs

For comparison, the ultralight LG Gram 17" is:
0.7" x 15" x 10.5"
Starting at 2.95lbs
... and nowhere near as durable as the Thinkpad.

Great price. I would have bought it, even paying a bit extra - if it was RTX 4060 - as an AI Dev laptop. Reviews show that RTX500 at 4G RAM is for lightweight workloads.

Nope! I'm used to slim and sleek XPS laptop but this year's XPS is a joke without those Fn keys. Like they didn't learn from Apple's mistakes. As business laptop it is a very Utilitarian design, just can't get over those thick screen bezels in 2025

Agreed Dell shot themselves in the foot with the terrible new design of invisible trackpad, terrible keyboard and worst (like you said), horrible touch surface for Fn keys like MacBook touch bar (but less techy and more cheesy).
