If you are growing food, you shouldn't use treated wood.

Not true anymore, the new pressure treated wood is safe for food gardens. University of Oregon did a study and copper increase in soil was minimal and in plants was negligible

Note that there is also an oval 6ft. x 3ft. x 1ft for $25.

I prefer these over the square ones I ordered. I'll probably just order 4 more.

Hang tight on that - you can build the 5x5 into an oval by building it differently. Just take the end piece and place it on the side. They have a picture showing that as well.

And there was a question posted about this as well:
Quote :
This modular planter can be assembled in three different configurations. The oval configuration is 96" long x 24" wide x 12" high. The rectangular configuration is 78" long x 42" wide x 12" high. The square configuration is 60" long x 60" wide x 12" high.

You're right that the modular model can be configured into a large oval. However, the sides on that version are made up of four individual panels screwed together. Personally, I prefer the rigidity of the models that use single-piece sides. They also require 12 fewer screws per side, which means fewer potential failure points and less risk of loosening over time.
That said, I haven't seen any of these in person, so my opinion is based more on theory than firsthand experience.

Thats fair, but I think anything is going to be compromised/flexing if they don't have cross bars for stability, either one piece or 4.

The Mr's order came yesterday. He put it together and was impressed with the quality/$. Jokingly, asked if he wanted more. Glad to see I could grab 2 for $41 that should be here by Saturday. Will give them a call tomorrow & ask to see if they will price adjust the 1st order.

I was able to price match via chat. I did that in the morning and the refund was reflecting in my account in the evening.
