According to https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...vsm2114669 the RX 7600 is only 10% better than a RTX 3060. Is that correct?

Thank you. Seems more like a cheap gaming PC rather than a great deal on a good gaming PC.

I got this two weeks ago it would fit your bill as well. It also did not use any proprietary parts

pass it's a MATX it also doesn't say what MB they are using might only be PCIE4. They don't even list the speed of the ram or the PSU lol. The GPU is only 8gb, with a small case you probably cant even get a 3 fan GPU in it.
yep. mostly HP proprietary stuff:

For the same price, much better to get pre-builds from brands like CyberPowerPC , MSI, etc.

A 4060 is hardly different from a 7600. Depends on the games you play but they trade blows all day.

OK for basic home use, photo/video editing or is this overkill?

Like anything, it all depends. I've got the Omen 45L and its liquid-cooled and its a tank. Nothing flimsy about it. Got triple discount and beat everything in price, even build your own. Most people are not going to monkey with adding cards, maybe RAM, drives. My only gripe is that you have to move the graphics card to upgrade the C drive. Otherwise, very easy to upgrade and clean. At least in mind, the side and front panels come off with a push of a button for upgrading and cleaning. I guess another gripe is that it gives the illusion you can add a PCIE card, but you can't, the MB has no slot for it. But it does more than what most people need it for. That could be for most gaming PCs.

its going to be meh for video editing. not a lot of cpu cores and gpu is pretty entry level.
this is like an esports gaming machine basically. and a builder could build this for same price or cheaper.
