I am not sure how these compare to the strawberry flavor, but those were pretty awful. This is coming from someone who regularly eats protein bars and other protein-marketed snacks, so I am familiar with the flavors/textures and how they differ from their "non-protein" counterparts. I wouldn't buy the strawberry again, but I might try the chocolate one.
Just another heavily processed "food" masquerading as a healthy alternative to heavily processed "foods."
Here are the most controversial ingredients in these, from my pal CGPT:
1. Erythritol
Artificial sugar alcohol; generally safe but linked to digestive upset in some and possible cardiovascular risk at high intake (as per a 2023 Cleveland Clinic study—still debated).
2. Polydextrose
A synthetic fiber and sweetener; can cause bloating, gas, and laxative effects in some individuals.
3. Palm Oil / Palm Kernel Oil
High in saturated fat; linked to heart health concerns when overconsumed. Also raises environmental and ethical issues (deforestation, habitat loss).
4. Natural Flavors
Broad and vague category; may include chemical solvents, preservatives, or MSG derivatives. Often criticized for lack of transparency.
5. Sucralose (e.g., Splenda)
Artificial sweetener; disrupts gut microbiome and show negative insulin response in some studies.

Bunch of chemicals... basically sugar bar with protein powder sprinkled. Just cook some boiled egg day before and eat it.. or scrambled. 100x better than these junk, marketing themselves as breakfast replacement.
Ah yes, a "sugar bar" with less than 1 gram of sugar in it. Great analysis.
Hit all the usuals for a protein product already I see.
"But the chemicals!"
"Also the fake sugars!"
"Don't forget seed oils!"
"Food dyes!"
"Just eat real food!"
This is all like worrying about what shape and color the guest bathroom shower tile will be when you don't even have a house built yet.

SD fell rapidly when it was sold years back. It started right before when the owner was being contacted by corporations. I rarely come here compared to back then.
Why are food sold to people who workout filled with chems an not real food; like carbs or sugars? It's fat people who need to stop eating. Not people who workout. Sounds like a scam to make me buy more food which I'm gonna have to do to get carbs.
Very silly take.
I'd come at that again with somethin a little more thoughtful than a comparison to antifreeze or an egocentric assumption about the purpose of snacks like this.
Why bother posting if you don't care about the deal? You're not going to change anyone's mind, especially by lecturing them.
I think the same could be asked for anyone coming to this post to complain that it's "not healthy." Every piece of data points to these being fine to eat barring allergies, and it's only when overconsumed that they become hazardous to your health. Presumably people are buying this for dietary or macro requirements, not to eat them one box at a time. It's the same people who listen to RFK Jr's lies when he misinterprets studies on what constitutes health; you shouldn't put things into your body if you can't pronounce them, but the man has a hole in his brain from eating improperly cooked pork and took growth hormones to get jacked at 70. Everyone reading this is still alive after being poisoned with PFCs from big corporations, we can eat one of these a day.
