I am not sure how these compare to the strawberry flavor, but those were pretty awful. This is coming from someone who regularly eats protein bars and other protein-marketed snacks, so I am familiar with the flavors/textures and how they differ from their "non-protein" counterparts. I wouldn't buy the strawberry again, but I might try the chocolate one.

Just another heavily processed "food" masquerading as a healthy alternative to heavily processed "foods."

Here are the most controversial ingredients in these, from my pal CGPT:

1. Erythritol

Artificial sugar alcohol; generally safe but linked to digestive upset in some and possible cardiovascular risk at high intake (as per a 2023 Cleveland Clinic study—still debated).

2. Polydextrose

A synthetic fiber and sweetener; can cause bloating, gas, and laxative effects in some individuals.

3. Palm Oil / Palm Kernel Oil

High in saturated fat; linked to heart health concerns when overconsumed. Also raises environmental and ethical issues (deforestation, habitat loss).

4. Natural Flavors

Broad and vague category; may include chemical solvents, preservatives, or MSG derivatives. Often criticized for lack of transparency.

5. Sucralose (e.g., Splenda)

Artificial sweetener; disrupts gut microbiome and show negative insulin response in some studies.

The only thing Legendary about these is their reputation on the r/expectationvsreality subreddit for being garage.

I bit on this deal, I feel a bit too gullible. The reviews on the cherry crumble being terrible were no exaggeration, felt sick after one. Picture on box and wrapper no where close to what the actual product looks like that it's comical.

I purchased these last time. They're not bad, better when warmed up for 15-20 seconds. You can definitely taste the sweetener.

Anything that starts with a 3.X rating on Amazon, duck and cover. You'll hardly ever see thing below 4.3-4.5; 3.X tells you this is a dumpster fire product. Who knows why anyone would upvote this as a deal

"meal replacement"

One single freaking chicken breast has more than double the protein than one of these. And it's not packed with chemicals and preservatives.

You're better off going to McDonald's and getting a regular burger.

These are pretty amazing if you are trying to put on weight quickly. That being said, they are not great macro wise. You can do much better. Unless you are trying to gain, I would skip those.
They are the best thing I've found that's in a single package for less that $4 at any location, so we are both saying the same thing. These things are better than the just the power if you are looking for actual sustenance, but most "fitness" folks don't actual read the labels and are much more akin to take bad advice from fitfluencers. Protein powder is about 3x as costly for just protein powder and this actually tastes good! Also, the product in this listing is specifically a meal-replacement bar... what are you trying to prove here?

It's just people attached to buzzwords like "palm oil" that can be bad for you at much higher doses than you would get with eating just one of these. One of the most upvoted comments is from a moron who used ChatGPT to do "research", and it literally told them that the ingredients CAN be bad WHEN OVERCONSUMED, but they ignored the part talking about quantity. You can overconsume water, does that make water bad? No. Also, people are comparing a macro fitness food to Pop Tarts. Obviously it doesn't taste like a Pop Tart even if it looks like one. These have 20g protein, 7g fiber, 11g sugar alcohol and 2g saturated fat, compared to a Pop Tart's 2g protein, 1g fiber, 17g added sugar and 2g saturated fat. People eat Pop Tarts for breakfast and then complain that this doesn't qualify as meal replacement when it's less empty carbs and more macros.

I've been eating these for 2 years and have zero health issues. You will be fine if you eat these. But it doesn't hurt anyone if you don't buy them. Reviews stem from sensationalized health scares, where people complain about a niche product like this but still eat TBHQ and demonize MSG, then take their unvaccinated kids to school in their gas guzzlers. Fights worth fighting are rarely fought by these people.

Well, speaking as someone who has lost 120 lbs since Oct of 2023, I enjoy these every once in awhile as a sweet treat. I think they are yummy and it's a plus that they have so much protein. That alone certainly makes them a better choice for me than the cakes and Twinkies, etc I used to reach for when I craved something sweet! I'm excited to try the cherry because I previously hadn't seen it on Amazon…

I actually really enjoy all the flavors I have tried. It's kind of a guilty pleasure snack instead of eating a pop tart or sweet. Good for once in a while.
Exactly! I love them once in awhile!
