Picked one up last night. When they brought it out, they asked if I was going to lay it down. Uh what?! Yeah no.

Hands up. Stupid question for a community that says "oh there are no stupid questions" (ok with many exceptions). I am not sure about the Samnsung contractor coming in to hang my 85 in on my wall and trust it won't be a horrible experience. Moved into new apartment and feel like I'd rather pay more for local recommend person to come scope out the situation and advise me best way to do it and not violate the lease or have it come crashing down on my dog while she sleeps in front of it.Never had a tv hung am I being too paranoid? And do it this cheap way?

I would wait on this deal. In November 2024 I got the same tv in 85" for $1,000 out the door tax and all direct through Samsung. The catch was you had to wait for 2 months for the shipping.

Has anyone been able to do store pick up AND trade in?

I was about to checkout and it won't let me pick up and receive the trade in credit. Can only get the trade in with delivery, which is 5 weeks out.

I ordered the Hisense 100" 100U8K (2023) from Best Buy for $2,600, and it's scheduled for delivery on June 26th. I'm considering canceling it and getting the this Samsung 85" QN90D instead, which is nearly half the price. Would that be a better option? Please suggest.

The QN90D would definitely be the better deal IMO. This is less than half the price. Which means you theoretically need to wait half the time for your next upgrade from a value perspective. Looking at it from a different perspective, the Hisense is not offering double the picture quality considering it is double the price. If it were me, I would go with the Samsung.

Oh no i just pulled the trigger and purchased....have been on the fence but most have been commenting it's a strong deal. I will be sad if this TV goes on sale for lower later this year as I didn't really need it but didn't want to have FOMO and miss out on it

Probably not a "signifigant" upgrade or downgrade. My guess is you could put them side by side and most people would say they look the same.

Also A,B,C were tested using a previous methodology on rtings. D,F were tested using their current method. Regardless they all fall between 8 and 8.4 overall.

Seems like this deal is really good, a few left for pick up around me, hmmmmm

My exact thought process. I am "trading in" my 85 inch QN90A for the 85 inch QN90D for around $1300. Gets me a newer model, hopefully better reflection handling, one year warranty, maybe incrementally better picture quality, newer processor and free labor to setup and test the new TV before sending away the working QN90A. Was well worth it in my case 😊

Advantage with having Samsung do it is that you know if the TV works before they leave. If you don't take the installation, you will end up with a packed TV box. By the time your installer arrives, you mount the TV and you figure out there is a problem with the TV, you will need to pack up the TV, contact Samsung for a replacement and lose the money you paid the local installer. Only thing a local installer may do extra is run in wall cables.

Also the Samsung installers probably do this for a living. May not be perfect but they are free. And they are unlikely to be so incompetent as to mount it in a way that the TV does not fall. This is not rocket science. All it involves is finding the studs in the wall and mounting on the studs instead of in drywall.

Always a chance but who knows. Samsung is trying to unload stock. They are more likely to run out by then. If you are not in a rush, there will always be other deals though so don't worry 😊

It hasn't. I have a qn90a and according to rtings this is a significant downgrade.
What is the qn90d?

which would you buy? I'm thinking of canceling and getting the s90d or wait for sale July 4th
It really depends on your viewing room parameters. The S90D is noticeably affected by glare and looks to have been a point of improvement on this years F model. If you don't have a lot of ambient light sources that will impact the screen, for a couple hundred more it gives you a little bump in picture quality from being full OLED. If you really want toe OLED but have light issues, maybe wait till next year to see what the closeout sales of the S95F are like.

Otherwise this is a pretty good deal for a top tier QLED.

Yes, decided to keep it maybe for 3 years then switch to oled.

I am looking for a tv that will be in a big bright room so wide viewing angles and needs a high brightness, would this been a good tv?
