Just received this email...

Shop eBay Live, score a $100 coupon.

Basically, you make an ebay live purchase and you'll receive a $25 off $50 purchase couple that can be used 4 times. It says you have to be the original recipient of the email to qualify. If you're going to be making ebay purchases anyways, seems like a decent deal.

never got the code emailed to me but a week after purchasing but it popped up as a coupon under items over $50.

June 25 - Brought Item
June 28 - Got the lookout for the coupon code email. Also showed up as an ad on my homepage but no code
June 3 - Code shows on eligible listings

I never got the lookout for the coupon code email, and no I don't see the coupon on items over $50. Congrats, I guess. I'm happy for you.

I received the initial promo email and had the banner appear on my eBay page, bought something for $12 from a Live on 6/20 and have not received any notice of getting a coupon or the coupon itself. Just got off a chat with an agent and they said "I have checked the details. In order to resolve your issue, I need to escalate your concern to our relevant team. They will get back to you via email within 48-72 hours."

Yay.

Received the promo-offer through email two times, bought a item for 10+5$, and didn't receive a confirmation of the promo (or randomly received the code like the one commenter).

Contacted live chat, sent the email and order number, they gave me a code for one-time use - while letting me know they will contact me back once the relevant team is able to send me the actual promo code from this offer.

Hope ya'll get your codes.

Edit 7/12 - Lmfao I received a promo for August, exact same one as this. Have not received an update on my proper code.

I wonder if it has something to do with the seller on eBay's backend? My live item was from target's bullseye store front and it tracked pretty much instantly for the lookout email after delivery.

Plus imo their items were the only ones worth buying around $10 on eBay live.

Dontknow Who knows? Maybe the offer was subject to availability and they gave out the coupon to, like, the first 3 people who did the deal and stiffed everybody else? Maybe I'll try bullseye_deals. Thanks for the idea. Did you use the bidding function or can I just scroll the list of items and do a buy-it-now?

Edit: Looks like bidding is not even an option for bullseye_deals. It's ALL buy-it-now. I guess that's a time saver, but I notice the list of items is not comprehensive. They put up some stuff not on the list. Still don't see anything I actually want to buy. I wouldn't mind buying random pillow shams or a throw for $11 if I knew for sure I was getting the coupon. But I have zero confidence in ebay.

Just to follow up on my incredibly frustrating experience...

I initiated an eBay call back after the 72 hours were up. Well, I guess technically, after 66 hours because that long drawn out call with customer service ended with them saying I needed to wait the full 72 hours for the escalation team to get back to me. So, after waiting another 24 hours with no email response, I initiated another eBay call back and talked to the most kind and most useless representative I spoken too recently. Needless to say, I asked to speak to a supervisor or anyone higher up. She agreed and said eBay would contact me within 24-48 hours. Yay.

After another 72 hours (today), I got a call from eBay, but the other end hung up immediately upon my answering. So, I initiated yet another call back. Talked to another representative who kept acting like I needed to make a purchase for the current promo period. Mind you, I have not received an invite to another promo like another SD user here and my promo period ended on July 10th. This rep also said that I would need to wait up to 30 days past my purchase to receive the coupon, which would end up being...tomorrow. Yeah, I had little faith anything would happen in the next 24 hours that hasn't happened in the past 29 days. So, I was left with waiting another 24 hours.

Then, just an hour ago I received yet another call from eBay (not initiated by me) and apparently this was who my issue had been escalated to. They said their system had no record of me receiving this promo as nothing showed up in my eBay messages, which was accurate. However, I did receive the promo email to my eBay account's email address three times. After reading off all 308 characters of the link address from within the email (kudos to CS René for getting it all down accurately) he was able to confirm it was a legit email. That it didn't show in my eBay messages is likely why the promo didn't correctly apply to my Live purchase. He then manually input a $25 coupon good for 30 days into my account, which I can see on my eBay summary page. However, it is only a single use coupon and not 4x use like the promo stated as he said that was beyond his ability to create a multi use code.

tl;dr - Horrible promo execution. Terrible CS support. Required multiple escalation attempts to get only a quarter of what was offered. 1/10 do not recommend.

Did anyone here actually get this promo in their ebay Messages section? I say that because I got this promo via email on two different ebay accounts, and yet neither one of them has it showing in the My Ebay messages section.

I already made a $10 purchase on one of the accounts last week and yesterday received another email (subject: Congrats! You've earned up to $100 off coupon!) stating I had qualified for the promo and that my coupon "will arrive shortly via email". Haven't actually received the coupon yet, but I fully expect to.

I will probably wait to receive the coupon before bothering to make a $10 purchase on my other account.

Just an update, I made a $10 purchase on both accounts that received the email, and about a week after making the qualifying purchase I received the coupon on my account via email. The coupon is also loaded into my accounts, and it shows up automatically on items that are $50+.

Sorry to those who had trouble, but just reporting that this promo worked fine for me and seems well worth doing if you were targeted via email.
