Eye mask, room at 65, 3-2-1 method for food, drink, phone, removed tv from room, sunlight 1st thing upon waking, and most importantly a consistent wake up time 7 days per week.

Based on the very little I've read, it sounds like it's anticholinergic use particularly in elderly, not all ages who use anticholinergics such as diphenhydramine/benadryl.
I doubt using something like this every day is great for you though, there's probably better/more permanent ways to alleviate someone's sleep issues than taking benadryl.
Personally I only use it for occasional allergies. It makes me way too sleepy to use consistently.

Anyone having problems with insomnia should take magnesium. Magnesium deficiency might not be detectable by a blood test and insomnia is one of many symptoms. Magnesium will likely not help for at least a month, it takes time for it to be effective.

I can confirm that this has withdrawal effects. When I stopped taking it, I couldn't sleep at all. If I don't take it, I don't sleep. Now that I read it's unsafe, can anyone recommend something safer? Things like melatonin are too weak for me, I need something stronger.

Thanks for the advice. But Fexofenadine is an anti-drowsy antihistamine. It might cause the same drowsiness as aspirin, but a sleeping aid is not one of its uses.

Not saying don't take it, use it but don't abuse it. Not getting enough sleep will kill your brain too. Talk to your doctor.
