Good LITTLE chainsaw if you are in the DeWalt battery camp.
It's my "cc".
Not credit card, not concealed carry, but carry chainsaw.
In rural northeast Mississippi we get a lot of storms that leave limbs and small trees across the rural roads.
Carrying a chainsaw has gotten me through.

Looks like this is the old model if it matters to people. This model is the DCCS620P1. The new one is the DCCS621.

Thanks for this. Looks to be a brushless motor and some decent design changes. Still a great deal with a battery. I need a small chainsaw and I'll probably end up getting this, but the small chainsaw market is wild.
EDIT: my mistake they're both brushless. Seems to be a decent buy for the money! In for one!

I just dumped mine in the garage. Had it for years since 2020 and it finally stopped this year. Bought parts for it and they did not fix it ..

I liked it a lot. I am back to using my Stihl gas powered unit... Electric is great because it is very quiet.

I want a bigger saw. I put a 14. Or 16 bar on this by Oregon and it works, but the 12 better. I put that bar on my Stihl and it is great... Smaller, but fast and smooth.

I would get the bigger DeWalt. I use a larger hart to cut a tree down and it was a nasty old palm tree. Ate it up. Used the DeWalt to cut little sago palms, pine and more.

Check and see if your power company offers any rebates. I got $40 back on this when I bought it last year. Tri-County/HomeWorks in Michigan is still running rebates on electric tools this year. Got $40 for a weed trimmer, $40 for a leaf blower, and $50 for an electric push mower.

I have one, works fine for small tasks. Not sure what your concerns are. Sure you're not going to take down a 50' tree with it, but for pruning branches it much more convenient than a gas powered saw. I have an 18" Poulan, this 12" Dewalt and pruning blades for my Sawsall. This small chainsaw works best for the small clean up jobs. Just my 2 cents

Not if you do 5 minutes of research and store it properly.
It uses a gravity oiler, no pump. So it emits oil when used/stored "upright".
Store it on its side, with the oil cap facing up, it will not leak a drop.

Ive got it for $99 tool only, it's been a great chainsaw! Simply store it on its side and you won't leak oil. I haven't done it yet but I want to upgrade the bar to a 14 inch, which I've seen many do. Great little hurricane clean up tool down here in Florida
