You only need to charge it once every few weeks, right? And many of us have some lightening cable laying around, so it's not that bad?

Can't you just use a tiny $5 Lightning to USB-C adapter on this?

Which we just bought. Greatly reduces cable clutter.

I purchased a similar keyboard at Costco from this thread.
https://slickdeals.net/f/18306610-costco-members-apple-magic-keyboard-w-touch-id-numeric-keypad-lightning-160-free-shipping

The one I purchased also has the lightning connector. From my experience, the lightning connector version works just fine. You can use the included lightning to usb-c cable, or I used a lightning to usb-a from a previous iPhone. No issues charging.

I have the keyboard connected to two Mac Minis and one MacBook Pro using a KVM switch using a lightning to usb-a cable, KVM expects usb-a. KVM switches keyboard to the correct computer, and magically, the correct computer connects to the keyboard over Bluetooth. I believe the Touch ID happens over Bluetooth if I am not mistaken. All works seamlessly.

I'm not sure what the usb-c version of the keyboard offers over the lightning version, other than the possibility of needing a lightning cable in 5-10 years. However, the lightning version works just fine for my workflow.

I have this exact same keyboard. I haven't charged it in two months. Still works fine I don't get the big hang up is between USB-C and lightning especially on something you're gonna charge maybe every few months. Most of you probably has quite a bit of lightning cables laying around anyways from your other iPhones are prior days. Not a deal killer at least not for me.

People worried about lightning connector, it's not a big deal, you only use that cable once every 2 months and the keyboard comes with it

I've had one of these for a couple years, but hardly use it. Not a fan of it having the flat keys like a MacBook. If you are looking for a keyboard with the flat keys (think Apple only has these type of keys), it's great (otherwise get a different keyboard with traditional keys)
