They're made in China. You can find almost identical products made in the same factories as Vortex for a quarter of the price, Firefield, for example.

FYI, I paid $356 from Focus Camera's eBay store (free shipping) in March 2024 and that was the lowest price I could find anywhere at the time. The glasspak chest harness + case was included.

Yes, Focus Camera is legit. I have these binos and they're definitely worth it at this price.

I bought this exact same deal two weeks ago everything came as described. As far as I can tell they're new. Great binoculars with amazing clarity.

I have the same pair from 2018 and sold my Diamond Vortex when I compared the two side by side. Worth the extra money. Very good glass! I paid $369 from B&H on sale.

As someone who's fairly new to binoculars, what sets these apart from a pair in the $175 range? Are the internals different or something?

Does anyone have any suggestions for good budget binoculars that will give you a good view of something about 1,000 to 1,500 feet away? I'm not looking for perfection, just trying to get a good view of things while hiking or going to sporting events. Thanks!

Looks like it's still available. This was more along my price range and purchased last week.

How do you know? The current generation model (gen V) is made in the Philippines - the prior gen was made in China. I asked Zeusy because he's bought from this seller, and I'd like to know what gen model Focus Camera is moving on this deal.

Upon further review... Gen I: Viper non-HD made in Japan (2007's Field & Stream 'Best of Best' winner), Gen II: Viper HD made in Japan, Gen III: Viper HD made in China, Gen IV: Viper HD made in China (around 2018), Gen V: Viper HD made in the Philippines (current product). So tell me, did you buy from Focus Camera recently and receive a Gen III or IV? Or were you confidently commenting on something you're not entirely sure about?

Japan > China > Philippines. It looks more like manufacturing in China isn't cheap enough for them anymore so they moved it to Philippines.

I reached out to Vortex customer service before I purchased and they ensured me the 2018 version was their latest version.
