Locally, Lowe's is trying to clear stock of the DCBP520 set manufactured in 2022, before Dewalt rebranded them with the XR name. The box only says Powerstack, not XR Powerstack. The battery is still good, though. Just be mentally prepared for that, I guess.

If they show the picture of the XR version prior to rebranding, then they should provide the battery pictured. no?

I mean no... it's basically just a label change.
The batteries are the same physically. If I was buying it though I'd want to look through their stock to find an XR branded(newer) one. Also be sure to keep your receipt/have it in your account/register the battery for a potentially warranty!

I bought this 3 weeks ago for local pickup thinking it was the XR Powerstack as shown online. I did not realize the box had no XR logo until I got home.

Looks like Dallas area is $91.xx, try calling and telling them something like, "I saw it at the store while on vacation & trying to order one for that price."
I've had luck with that at HD before, told them I was local to the cheap price and trying to buy it for my dad for Father's Day and needed to order online to ship to him.

Isn't it funny though? DeWalt made the big deal about the label. "The XR is reserved for higher capacity and reduced weight batteries". but then when they dropped the XR label on the middle tier battery, they said in effect, "its the same battery sold with 20V max". So why were folks paying extra to get the XR label, before the rebranding went into effect?

It doesnt feel transparent at all. I did reach out to DeWalt CS and got a free "one time" tool upgrade when they short changed me with a non XR tool in an XR package.
