Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

12 months of paid service AND from what I've experience in the past you need to contact support to get your phone unlocked. Also from what I've heard even if you pay for a full year up front they won't unlock for you.
Appreciate the confirmation.

With the lack of readily available third-party unlock services, it seems like this is mainly good for a WiFi-only gaming device/media player.

Hmmm. Should I be cheap and get the Stylus 2024 for $25 or spend another $35 for the Edge 2023+? Gotta make a decision soon as Boost is obviously clearing their stock for old phones, so these prices will not last much longer.

Once the Stylus 2024 stock is depleted, Boost will soon begin selling the Stylus 2025.

With the Edge series though, there is no evidence that Boost will sell an Edge 2025 even though other providers will have the device available to their customers. As far as having an Edge+ 2025 goes, there has been no such announcement from Motorola which have lead people to speculate that there will be not be such device sold in the US.

With regards to sim unlocking a Boost Edge+ 2023, there are threads from a year ago where people here bought the device. Somebody should try looking through those old threads to see if anybody every figured out a way to unlock the phone through a 3rd-party. I tend to doubt that anybody succeeded.

Yeah. You could always get the 3 month promo $15 plan and then pay $25 after, which pricewise kinda lines up with Mint's pricing.
You'd need to either port out and back in or switch phone numbers though.

Another downside to the Edge 2025 (if anyone cares) is that the USB-C port is USB 2.0. So no more display out. It seems that the Edge 2024 will be the last Moto phone with that feature.

If the phone is manufactured prior to Aug 2023, then the phone can be unlocked through a cheap code on Ebay. Else, permanent locked phone. Good for a wifi / gaming device with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip (similar to Samsung S23). You can also unlock the bootloader on Boost Mobile phone. So custom firmware is also possible.

It has been discussed on previous deals. This is just one of them.

Ebay doesn't allow the sale of digital goods on their platforms, except for approved sellers. So the listings will be wipe off Ebay when they found out.
"Electronically delivered goods can only be listed by eBay approved sellers and must follow our policy."

So if you want an unlocked phone, your phone's manufactured date should not after Aug 2023, but you can also check with the seller if the unlock is possible. Buy from eBay if there are listings, if not, spend sometime to go through previous deals, people have mentioned some seller with contact information.

If you are fine with a locked phone for WIFI uses or Gaming device, then this is not a bad deal.

Or return it or trade-in online.

I thought it took time until the IMEI was added to the lists the unlockers use. The phone I bought will be arriving later today so we will see if it can be unlocked or not.

nice...good feedback for those that may need it..
I got the phone today and was able to unlock with a code from an online website for $15. The carrier version will automatically install bloatwares so make sure to disable the Boost Installer app. While the retails version are upgraded to A15, this boost version still at A14. It's possible to flash the firmware to retail or retus (retail us) but I wouldn't recommend as it won't be easy. Also even though the phone have 2 IMEI, boost hide the esim so only physical sim available. Need to flash to other firmwares to make it show up.

It seems you can flash retail fw or retus to unlock the esim function, with some problems
BUT, on the latest post, it seems even though there is no esim option in the setting, you can still use the esim function

I have been able to use the esim on the phone I got last year. I was able to activate T-Mobile's 3 month Network Pass trial. Takes a little work but eventually it downloads the esim. I also downloaded Firsty which gives some free data. Currently using Instabridge which gives 5gb a month free and that is good enough to be my only source of data paired up with Google Voice. You can definitely get an esim activated on this phone.

The Esim is NOT locked on boost firmware.

But menu for esim is hidden by default on this phone, that's all. Esim is added when a QR code is scanned.
