Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

Has anyone tried flashing the factory unlocked firmware on these? I know you can do that with Samsung phones, but haven't really heard of it being done on these Moto phones.
Yes, you can and it's fairly simple but unfortunately it's just a band-aid: the retail channel (Boost) is stored in bootloader so no OTA updates for retail firmware on Boost device. If you unlock bootloader than it's different: you can re-write the retail channel and the phone will receive updates as if it is a US retail no provider-lock phone. But with unlocked bootloader you will have big trouble running banking apps, netflix etc.because it will not pass safety net check and google play will not be certified (((

Yes but a lot harder then Samsung the Motorola bootloader unlocking requires key from motorola website also voids warranty on motorola server instantly. And relocking bootloader can brick the device.

Thank. Don't want to risk bricking the device, so will leave it as is.

Looks like that is a dead end then. I am going to just live with the Boost firmware as I don't want to lose OTA updates, and definitely don't want to break netflix etc. Thanks for the info!

Hi all and thanks to the OP and many others here!
Mine arrived today in a sealed box. Battery was at 35% on arrival. Went through similar startup as my MEP 2022 from shut down. Cannot figure out how to check date of manufacture via any code or serial number, IMEI, etc. On the box there is a "Date: 03/03/2025". Did not turn Wi-Fi on. Time was true to US east coast. Time used before I opened box might have been no more than 10 minutes before I found that information under About in Settings app. I had some extra cases and screen protectors. iphone 6S plus glass protector is too short. This MEP 23 phone is narrower and shorter than the 2022 MEP. 22 case covers power button for 23 model. But sort of usable in a pinch with tape to fill the gaps, well, sort of. The 2022 MEP ME+ glass screen protector is too wide due to the curve, but could be used in a pinch. Maybe mash tissue or tape into the edges to fill the gap. Not elegant. An old thin wobbly tracfone case for an old Samsung Galaxy model sm-s134dl gp Tracfone = A03S is a close body fit except for the camera lens on the right. It too can be used in a pinch. Might want to add some painters tape etc to edges for more protection. Not pretty but mostly functional until new case arrives - once I figure out what to buy. I like the Cover-On protectors I bought for the MEP 22, one is a strong dual layer case, the other has the metal tilt ring. Not all sellers on ebay / amazon / elsewhere note that they are selling a Carry On product. Only issue, as others have noted is that after a year or so the plastic starts peeling a bit. Not a structural issue and you have look closely to see it.
Charger information from the microprint is 5v 3A 15w, or 9v 3A 27w, or 15v 3A 15w, or 20v 3.4A 68w, or 11v 6.2A 68.2w. Model MC-681N. In 26 minutes went from 35 to 93% using their included charger. Both charger and phone did get quite warm. My 22 MEP battery was nothing short of amazing for the first few months. But likely overcharging over the past 16 months or so has made it necessary to do 2 charges to 80% plus per day now. So, please, go easy on the charging and DO NOT overcharge or leave unattended. FWIW: Motorola TurboPower 68W USB-C Wall Charger + 3.3ft 6.5 Amp E-Marked Cable, GaN Tech, Fastest for Moto G Stylus (2025), Motorola Edge+ (Plus) 2022/2023,Edge 2023/2024,Razr+ (Plus) 2024, PD Devices Visit the Motorola Store - $44- on amazon. I don't know how to turn turbocharging off (on the MEP 22 or 23) as it seems to be automatically set.
I have not inserted the included Sim card yet, but Software Channel = Dish wireless, under Settings > About. We do have a few 313 340 towers about 1 mile away.
Anyone have luck with eSims or receive another carrier's (VZ, TM, ATT, etc) QR code try on the MEP 23 to unlock the eSim? If you travel outside the US an eSim makes using the cell phone so much easier.
Thx all. From NOLA with love. Satchmo's birthday was yesterday.

How did you add the service to cart? other than a poup, there is nothing to purchase the unlock service or enter IMEI and checkout?

I can also confirm i-imei is legit. Got the code 10 min after payment.

What seems to be the consensus on buying multiple phones? The website is not even showing a ship by date so it might not be worth ordering right now anyway.
