Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

The Boost Motorola Edge+ 2023 (unlocked) worked perfectly fine with my Visible physical sim. I just tested the phone calls and data. I didn't try to test my Visible hotspot.
thanks for letting me know, can you please let me know where you unlocked the phone from? I tried using the code provided by the user thriftygame here
Thrifty did it for me

Just an FYI I purchased this phone from boost and followed the unlock instructions here and was able to unlock the device successfully however when I try to transfer a visible esim to this boost mobile phone it says that the IMEI is not available for visible network. Looks like the network unlock will still not make this phone work on some networks like visible. Has anyone had any luck with using this phone on visible network with esim after unlock?
physical sim v e sim

physical sim from practically every carrier will work on this phone

esim = way too many variables. cant even see the esim because has been disabled by boost? moto? dont know. havent read up. as i am not interested in knowing...yet....

avoid if possible.

I have always been battery thrifty from my habit. As for end of life? Hopefully Motorola gives it 3 system updates and 4 years of security. I thought this was the phone that people had big gripe about expensive flagship getting just 2 system updates and 3 years of security updates and Motorola may have changed it to 3 system updates and 4 years security? If a phone is really good, I may just use free highly rated Avast antivirus if it stopped getting security updates. I do use my Motorola G Stylus 2022 that stopped receiving security updates as like mini tablet.
3AU / 4SU from 2023.

and that is when u buy the UL version from motorola ,amazon, best buy etc.

when u add boost to the equation. uncertainty is added

i doubt the combination of boost/moto will have any more android updates.
could be rong

The Motorola Edge+ (2023) launched with Android 13 and was guaranteed three years of Android OS upgrades, which means it should receive updates up to Android 16, and four years of bimonthly security updates until around May 2027. The phone started receiving major OS updates from its launch in 2023, so users can expect ongoing support for its software and security patches within this timeframe.
Software Support Details
Operating System (OS) Upgrades: Three years of major Android version updates.
Security Updates: Four years of bi-monthly security patches.
Expected Android Version: Launched with Android 13 and should be updated to Android 16.

currently , A15 still on may (?) security patch

Right now I put the Visible sim into the Boost Motorola Edge+ 2023 and at first the hotspot didn't work with my usual password. I had to go into the hotspot settings as the password was changed in the Motorola Edge+ 2023 settings as a bunch of random letters and numbers. I changed the password into my usual password.
Everything works great with my Visible sim.

thanks for the update, were you able to also verify if the visible bands are supported and if your download speeds work fine after the switch

I was told to do this to activate the esim: You need to type *#06# to get the esim bar code, then either QR scan the code or using carrier app to activate the esim.

I just ran speedtest with Visible data and got 98 mbp download and 18 mbps upload. I have been very impressed with Visible and the $20 per month deal. Before I got Visible, I had an automatic misconception that Verizon is worse than ATT and T-Mobile where I live but Visible has been awesome.
  • I put my Boost sim into my Pixel 9a and my Visible into the Edge+. The 9a is a really good phone and fixed the cons of the 6a but I find the Motorola Edge+ 2023 a more enjoyable phone. I know the Pixel got better camera, more software support, probably stronger processor but I find the Motorola a more enjoyable experience. Big screen is always more enjoyable to me.

Anyone know how to turn off phone screen while using smart connect? Screen timeout display setting is already set to 30s but screen is not blacked out.

Use case: Cast/mirror to Roku watching a movie while using VLC.

im on Boost Mobile right now in New York City. absolutely terrible service. I called "advanced tech support" and all they tell me is that their towers are "under maintenance" and to call back in a week if nothing improves. such BS.

nope, the phone size and camera is different: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/...2146,12149
That link is the Moto Edge 40, not Moto Edge 40 Pro.

The DXO review of the Pro shows some negatives, especially with the slow focus: http://www.dxomark.com/motorola-e...mera-test/ Will this Moto Edge + even get Android 15 since older?

I have the Pixel 9a and it's great. The Visible deal at $199. 2 months ago was a must have and the best part was it was unlocked! I stuck a prepaid T-Mo sim in and getting 140-160 down. Love the bright screen on the 9a and running Android 16 now. The 6a still works fine too. I saw them new on eBay at $139 on Total and the 60 day unlock is bonus.

I've only used wired Smart Connect, and the screen goes off automatically after about 10 seconds.

I'll give wireless a try and see if I can figure anything out. Playing some Legends of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom on it right now.

Edit: I just started Smart Connect to my fire stick 4K Maxx. Opened up stremio from the TV section and started playing a show.
The phone screen went off after about 5 to 10 seconds.

Are you opening VLC on the phone, or using smart connect to open it on the TV?
