Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

Given it's been 3 months since the original deal was posted, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone who did not port out and "let the plan die" can confirm that their on-file credit card was not charged for the second month.

Just wanted to get additional anecdotes due to some billing complaints on Boost Mobile's Reddit.

Thanks!
+1 to that. Can anyone share some anecdote about what happened after 30 days ? Should we port out to completely cancel the line
Why not just turn off auto pay on the boost app? If it is OFF, it won't automatically pay. I have never had any company later charge me with an autopay off. If it is toggled ON, it will simply automatically pay. If payment isn't received on time, service will simply be turned off (phone number will probably be held for 1 months). It is a prepaid service. Another poster talking about collection agency? This is for prepaid phone and prepaid service. I would assume collection agency is aimed more for postpaid phone and service as a customer gets phone and service and fails to pay for them. Boost is rightfully owed lot of money from bad customer.
I googled "Boost Motorola Edge+ 2023 billing complaints Reddit" and couldn't find anything.

This is a 2 year old phone. Might be better to pay $40 more for iPhone 16e
Shame. Shame. Shame.
the iPhone will have a much greater value now or in the future. Same with an iPhone 13 or 14 with full Apple support as bonus.

Another thing since we pick $60 for the phone, we don't own them anything, but if we pick the $16 monthly payment for the phone, then that's another story.

I can say from my own experience that this is slightly incorrect. Prepaid service yes but agreements are exactly that regardless of post/prepaid class. Boost has sent one of my "failure to activate" accounts to collections. I did activate the device with am Agent on the phone and was assigned a number. It's an error on the part and out of all the purchases and activations I have done it has only happened to 1 device and that was a Moto G Stylus 2023 or '24. The collection agency emails me at least once per week and I will dispute it, I just haven't.
Edit: updated with email

I am talking about the phone vs phone. Unlocked helps too. I believe 12 months of ACTIVE Boost service ($$$) is required to get the unlocked iPhone. Add all that money into the equation. I am not talking about apple phone resell value or trade-in. We all know Apple has higher resell value than phones like Samsung, Google and Motorola due to Apple having a basic simple fan base. The biggest con is 6.1" display, my music file management is so much better with android and being IOS with its usual cons. I don't find a 6.1" display as enjoyable as large screen phones. I always preferred my Samsung, Google and Motorola over my iPhones. What is the problem with iPhone 13? Launched in September 2021. Look at its specs. Will it have great value after a couple years use from now in 2027? Trying to resell it or trade-in. Ehh. I don't think so. Does the 6 year old iPhone 11 (released in 2019) have great value in 2025. No. Why would a 6 year old iPhone 13 have great value in 2027? People should use these great deal phones as-is and don't think as future value and that goes for the cheap low iPhone deals. What is the problem with the iPhone 16e? It got so much hate from day 1. It isn't in demand. The high majority of Apple users don't want to use it. It is like the SE 2022. The demand for the SE 2022 and 16e isn't really there so I don't expect the value to be there in the future. If one is buying the latest greatest expensive flagship and constantly upgrading every 1 or 2 years, it would make more sense in thinking about resell and trade-ins but the good budget deal iphones we see are approaching a couple more years to their end.

Yup! There's a test version of Android 16 for this phone, but I'm sticking with LOS 22. Just need to setup Magisk to hide root and RCS will work like stock.

Who cares, no one buys phones as serious investments. That's why actual investment vehicles exist, like real estate, equities, gold/silver, etc. owning those allow people to buy any phone they want. In 4 years I can just buy whatever I want, and recycle/donate this.

Android is far more versatile. You forget they are entirely different platforms, and many of us have paid apps on one platform already.

I have never bought Iphone before. Why? Because I believe it is overvalued.

Exactly. People use their phone for its PROs and its nice features. I can't do lot of the big PROs on Android on Apple iPhone. I think iPhone people over exaggerate the older iPhone values. Sure they will get support but not much longer for the old iphones. A used old 2021 iPhone 13 on eBay will have old worn battery issues and just the regular wear and tear on display. If someone buys a new iPhone 13 in 2025 and wants to sell it later, bidders will assume it is much older than it is. If one buys a new good deal iPhone 13 and use it for 1-2 years and then decide to sell it or trade-in, it won't have much value in 2026 or 2027. Nobody wants a 6 year old iPhone 11 now. Nobody wants any 6 year old ANY phone and that includes iPhone due to wear & tear and support. The apple ios system updates slowing down older iPhones is absolutely true too.

I have bought a handful of iPhones and traded in a bunch but it was with good deals and they were always new but older models. Never "wowed" by my iPhones. I never bought the top line models. I never got the latest model basic iPhone that sells for like $800. My old iphones work well with performance, good camera and long support but I like the android better overall. Apple battery life was always poor from my iPhone experience but I think Apple has improved a bit from that. I can always do more with Android whether it be Samsung, Google or Motorola and just simply found it more enjoyable. Not hating on Apple. Their deals for the older models aren't too shabby. Not for me though.

Out of curiosity, what method do you use to hide root? Are using EdXposed or LSPosed Manager with an appropriate module responsible for hiding root?
