Imagine spending $2k on a "high end" computer with 512GB in 2025.. It's beyond ridiculous.

Agree, but if you want to be in the Apple ecosystem that's what it is. On the bright side, the Studio models don't use soldered flash for storage and people do now make third-party modules so you can upgrade it later.

Just had Best Buy price match this for me this morning in the chat. I had just picked up a Mac Mini 4 days ago. I'm gonna return it for this today, when they tell me it's ready for pick up. I had an M2 max Studio and loved it. I'm excited to get the 10G ethernet back, the Mac Mini's Best Buy sell only has 1G ethernet. I have 5G Ziply Fiber internet so it makes a huge difference in speed. Thank you to the OP.

What made you do upgrade from m2 max studio to m4 max? I am looking to buy m2 max studio for $1000 new, just debating between m2 and m4 for price gap.

I remember reading a while back that if you use payboo, you get the tax you pay as a discount. Is that still true?

Yes, I think you can usually either defer payments for a specified amount of time with no interest charges (but pay the sales tax) or not have to pay the sales tax. I have always selected the no sales tax option and pay my balance in full within 30 days to avoid interest charges.

* a much better computing experience
* integrated ecosystem if you are Apple user
* apple os updates/supports far longer than nearly any PC maker
* An actual resale value if you decide to sell at later date
