The unspent credits disappear when you unsubscribe, but they bank month-to-month while you're a subscriber. And the audiobooks you buy with those credits stay on your account after you drop your subscription.

Audible's selection is so much bigger than Libby and Hoopla, etc. and you get to keep the audiobooks even after you cancel the membership. There are many audiobooks that are exclusive to Audible, too, so you should definitely check it out.

I will suggest that you use the Audible app only for listening as it's not the best on mobile for browsing and reading reviews. At least it never has been on any of my iPhones. Use the website for everything else. One other tip, if you click preview to listen to a sample on a title's page it will start at the beginning of the book, which of course might not give you any example of character's voices especially if there's a dedication or author's note. But if you click on the author's name or series name then listen to the sample on that list page, if you're lucky you'll get a narration sample in the middle of a random chapter where hopefully you'll hear some dialogue between main characters.

It didn't work for me. I've done a lot of free trials over the years, the last one was probably 6-8 months ago.

I have never, in all my years, tried audible! 😬 I use a lot of audiobook services free through the library, though... and there's a new book I desperately want to read! I should try it.

I use libby primarily as well but I always sign up for these Audible deals. I've gotten about 20 free or 99 cent books. Also libby only lets you keep an audiobook for 3 weeks so I use this for longer books. The last Game of Thrones book is almost 50 hours.

I would sign it up now, it's 3 months worth of 3 books. Sometime, I would save the first 2 credits and wait until the 3rd month anyway. Who know, there maybe other deal that pop up later like two for one deal. By signing up now, you will have credit saved up for that. If nothing else, by 3rd month I would spent them all on a book series then cancel the sub.
