I think they aren't doing the gift cards this year because the M4's have been on sale the majority of the time. I've seen so many M4 deals that are cheaper than the older M3s. They must not be selling well.

You're confusing the regular AirPods 4 ($129 retail and comes on sale for $99) with the AirPods 4 w/ Active Noise Cancellation ($179 retail and comes on sale for $129) that comes free with the Macbook

I checked fb market, lots of ads for $80 or less for this active noice canceling earbuds brand new. A much over priced accessory no one wants in store even with a discount.

Free stuff, I can't complain. Plus, 0% interest-free financing and 3% cash back if you use the Apple Card.
That being said, it's a bummer that the Mac Mini was left out of this year's promotion. Luckily, it's on sale at many places currently, so not too much of a bummer.

It is much of a bummer, those 3rd party sales don't compare if they offered the $100 GC (or even $50) on top of the base $499 price and you paid with Apple GCs; those are usually at least 15% off.

No gift card this year. AirPods or choice of different accessories or discount off a higher priced one. It's on the Apple Edu site.
