Assuming you still have the option for this ASUS they aren't even comparable imo. The ASUS has an actual GPU, a much better processor, a MUCH brighter/higher quality screen, higher build quality (Believe both bottom and top of the ASUS are all metal construction). Oh and there is an open Sodimm sloot in this ASUS book instead of soldered ram like the Dell which means you could eventually upgrade this as high as 40-50GBs of ram.
But dell has higher res mini-led TOUCH, not sure how different in person from 1080p oled. More ram 32gb so you probably won't need to upgrade. Same original msrp. A case can be made for both. I would be interested in performance comparison of laptop rtx 3050 vs intel arc.

actually just answered my question assuming these are what these have:

Yeah I forgot about the touch. Personally I don't care about touch, and would MUCH rather have a 1080p at 400+ nits of brightness than... well pretty much anything at 300 nits lol. My Legion pro 5 from 3 years ago is the first laptop I have had with over 300 nits starting, and it's a game changer especially for longevity. Screens only get dimmer with time, 300 is fine... until a few years in when it's under 200 Frown

This really is a great deal for a laptop. Maybe not for you, who may want that top tier screen, but for most parents, friends, family...this would make a GREAT laptop. If you can get an excellent conditioned one at that price...go ahead and pick one up before you run out of time. It checks off 90% of what most folks need in a daily laptop...and more. Plus, it has a hell of a lot of great ports that a lot of these newer slimmer ones just loose out. Otherwise just wait for NOVA LAKE to come out.

Grabbed an open box excellent and it was clearly a floor model. It was dirty and had a half peeled sticker on the back. Decided to pass.

60hz is the only thing that makes me want to pass. great specs for the price otherwise
60hz is fine because this will only be doing about 60fps in most games because of the RTX 3050

Had a family member pick one up for me locally, they didn't even include the AC power cable. It won't turn on. Is this how Best Buy does you if you buy an Open Box item in fair condition?

I thought required accessories would be included at the very least. Needless to say, it's being returned but it's such a stupid hassle.

I discovered you can't call a local Best Buy. They send you to a foreign call center who can't connect to the stores no matter what (not even to ask if they have a power brick and cable there they forgot to include)

Is this normal for Best Buy, or am I just getting an exceptionally bad experience?

I mean the description of fair says it "may be missing parts and accessories". Many people talk about them missing power cords on fair in these YMMV best buy threads.

If you have the total membership, they will fix it for you or refund

I got a unit that looked like only damaged box and marked as "residue" in good condition, practically never used. Will check battery cycle count.
