I like mine but the battery does not last nearly long enough. If I was going to grab another, I'd wait for a sale on the model that uses the 18650 (hd20 maybe?)

HD20 uses 21700 battery, HD15 has an 18650. Both have decent battery life and are solid headlamps.

I have a couple of these HD10's, love the 4000K tint. UI is "meh", I would have preferred a simpler set of controls.
Note: The HD10 seems to have a mind of its own, occasionally turning on its auxiliary lighting mode. The standby lighting is cute, but puts a slow drain on the battery. FACTORY RESET DOES NOT WORK! To turn off auxiliary lights you need to manually program it to do so. (If I recall correctly, you need to do 7 rapid clicks in succession to turn it off.) IMO, it is a design flaw for the factory reset not to restore the flashlight's baseline settings.

If you wanted simple controls, I'm not sure why you'd order a light with Anduril. The whole point is to have a UI that is incredibly detailed and lets you control virtually every aspect of your light.
The Sofirn HD10 would probably have been my choice for a similar light if I didn't purposely want Anduril. https://www.sofirnlight.com/produ...pSEALw_wcB
While anduril does have a simple mode, it's still pointlessly complicated and easy to get in trouble if you just randomly click around and don't explicitly want that level of control.
Factory reset DOES normally restore baseline settings, that's the entire point. Either your particular unit is damaged, or the aux lights being on are the default. These can ship with firmware of various revisions, and mine ships with the aux lights set to blink when "off". You can do a version check to see what firmware each of your lights has, including the misbehaving one.
Go to the Wurkkos page and get the Anduril documents to see how to make changes.

I assume that when I received the HD10's, that they were shipped in default mode. Auxiliary lights were off. As to operating under Anduril, I did restore them myself. That's why I can report factory reset didn't work. (Based on other review comments from Amazon customers, they had the same experience.)
"If you wanted simple controls, I'm not sure why you'd order a light with Anduril." I ordered the Wurkkos HD10 because I liked the form factor, the 4000K tint, the 95 CRI, and the 0.5 lumen "moonlight" mode (which is near-perfect for my night use). The relatively diffuse beam pattern is better than average for my taste.
Regarding the Sofirn HD10, I have one of those as well (4000K, of course!). I'd rate its UI as "meh", too. Not any better or any worse than the Wurkkos HD10. Practical, but not my favorite. As to which one I prefer, I like the Wurkkos HD10's 14500 form factor over the Sofirn HD10's 16340 form factor. I also like the Wurkkos' lower 0.5 lumen moonlight mode. Run times are mixed bag depending on illumination level chosen. I like them both, but if I had to choose one, I'd pick the Wurkkos.

You may want to try updating Anduril on the one misbehaving light then. I've never experienced a factory reset not actually doing so on an Anduril light, but I guess anything is possible.
Wurkkos support is pretty decent, if the light is fairly new you can also just reach out to them.

how do we update Anduril? do i need to purchase stuff to update? i purchased open-box and aux lights stay on when I 1-click to turn off. whatever battery drain it causes doesn't bother me. but I would like to know what anduril it has and possibly update to latest.

You don't really need to update anything, the come with Anduril 2 by default.
You've got the standby mode LED lighting on (which is the default setting for some stupid reason). Click 7 times to cycle through the different modes, the 4th is off I think.
Anduril is very capable, but it is also very complicated and has a steep learning curve. If this puts you off, you can switch to the "simple" UI - check out the Anduril V2 control flowchart on reddit to see what all the flashlight can actually do.

I bought this and returned it. The UI is terrible. Click & Hold 1 to 7 time for different mode. Who's the genius designed the UI for this?
I blinded myself many times trying to get to the mode I wanted.
