just me or does it look like the entire bedframe is metal and only the head and foot boards are metal?

this is correct. only head and footboards are metal. TBH I've been very happy with my all wood Zinus frames that I've found on deals

It's been a long time since I bought a mattress but didn't the warranties for the mattresses say that you needed to use WOOD slats (within a certain specified number of inches apart) and not metal slats in order to keep the warranty in good standing?
