Not a terrible price but it's because this is derived from magnesium oxide. It has the worst bioavailability and is much less absorbable than other forms of magnesium on the market. But it's cheaper so you'll find it in most supplements or multivitamins. Not going to hurt you but might be better to spend the money to get a better one.

Magnesium Glycinate is better which improves sleep, calm nervous system and helps with muscle function. Usually comes on sale at Costco

Also, look into Magnesium Threonate. I believe it's the only form that can cross the blood brain barrier which can apparently support brain function better than other forms.

The bioavailability of magnesium oxide is around 3-4%. It's one of the least bioavailable formulations of any vitamin/mineral. The label claims it has 500 mg of elemental magnesium, but because it's so poorly absorbed your body will only be able to use around 15 mg, out of the 300/400 mg RDA for women/men.

yes the magnesium oxide is truly only good for those who are suffering from constipation and the cereals also use the magnesium oxide also as well.
