I bought this one on 6/11 for $499 with the EDU discount and the free JBL headset. Samsung matched the price and refunded me the $100 difference, which was great. I'm really happy with the monitor and Samsung's policy.😄

Damn, I'm not sure if I should get this or wait for the Gigabyte MO27Q28G with the tandem oled coming in July/August. The major thing holding me back from oled is text clarity issues even though I don't use it for work.
triangular RGB, which this monitor uses, helps out with text clarity. need to remember that an IPS panel will always be better for text clarity, so you need to be aware of the tradeoffs. unless you go with 4K OLED which has great text clarity

EDU, or student discount. You need to have a student email address from a community college or a four-year institution and verify it with Samsung; it also works for HP and other places.

I have a Corsair 27" 1440p Oled and I choose to go with the Samsung Neo G7 ($380 with EDU). It's an all-around better display.
Curved 32" 4K Mini-led. I never did get use to the way Oled handles brightness and text. It looked great watching media and in games, but 80% of my PC use is working with txt and browsing and it wasn't very good at those.

Took a min to get use to the 1000r curve, but within the first week or two I never noticed it.

I'd highly recommend getting an OLED monitor. Especially if you have a high end rig, which you do. IMO, wait for a sale on a 27" or 32" 4k OLED if you care about text clarity.

You might also consider a 34" 1440p ultrawide. It'd allow you to keep high frame rates, and give you a wider field of view.

Something like this monitor for $550: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-34...KVVXT?th=1 [amazon.com] (Just update the firmware when you get it)
Thanks for the ultrawide 1800R curved recomendation...haven't pulled the trigger cuz $550 when similar specs without oled can be found cheaper...
Sure mostly VA panels but the $250 Scepter VA 165hz more curved 1500r seems tempting:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...PDKIKX0DER

Still added yours to my cart, undecided and might wait for black friday or something as not in a rush atm.

I'm trying to get ultrawide curved and have a bunch in my cart to compare...would like to try as much curved without selling a kidney(Most curved seems to be 800R which are close to a grand).

I wouldn't use words like "always" as it's ymmv. I daily drive an OLED on my laptop and the text clarity is night and day compared to my work IPS screens. The OLED has extremely sharp text and high contrast which also helps the clarity. Meanwhile my desktop gaming PC has an IPS 1440p 27" gaming monitor with a BRG sub-pixel layout and text is quite obviously not sharp.

Would you recommend 34" 1440p OLED or 32" 4k OLED with that setup?
I am currently searching for a monitor and deciding between 34" 175Hz UWQHD VS 32" 165Hz OLED UHD.
MSI MAG321UP vs MAG341CQP.
Or maybe some other alternative if there's other better deal out there.

No thanks for old tech. Next month, Msi/gigabyte is coming out with tandem OLED 27" 240hz 1440p monitor for only $500. Similar tech to the amazing m4 iPad Pro screen (super bright, better text clarity and better burn-in resistance)

FWIW, I wasn't happy with the monitor and started a return, Samsung rep offered another $40 off to keep it.

Just got mine, monitor looks great and is a noticeable improvement over my 1440p non OLED. I would avoid this if you plan to use it as primarily for work however, text clarity is acceptable but not great.
