Tplink barely updates their firmware after one year and then you are stuck with a router chock full of security vulnerabilities. No thx.

My M9 Plus received updates for over 5 years. Maybe they don't update the newer ones like they used to...

Every manufacturer only updates the most popular models frequently. Asus updated the ac68u I think for more than 7 years, meanwhile I had an unpopular model that they didn't update after 2-3 years. Seen the same thing with Netgear, r7000 got years of updates, I also had a Costco specific model that only got 1-2 years of updates.
