I too have the svs prime center. everyone should shell out most coin for center, then sub, then fronts , then rears, then atmos in that order
Almost. Phantom center vastly increases the audio quality of spoken dialog and makes the sound come from the CENTER of the screen instead of above or below.

that's what I just said. the phantom term is think comes from stereo left right as a perceived center....

First off, this speaker is not junk. When I barely had two pennies to rub together, I got this center.with two front Jamo speskers. Then, I bought the atmos speaker and dam, it sounded fine.
I time, I have upgraded to the SVS prime center. Yes, there was a big difference in sound. But I paid $50 for the Jamo while I paid $300 for the prime center. With svs last sale, I upgraded the front to the SVS ultra.
For the price and someone just wants a nice start out system, Jamo is good for people on a tight budget.

I totally agree, I have a pair of Jamo S801s and they were fine, no complaints for getting into the Hifi hobby. I don't use them much anymore but occasionally I bring them out to compare to any new bookshelf speaks I get and they still hold up, even against speakers 3 times the price. Not everyone has thousands of dollars to get the best. Start somewhere you can afford and find your own tastes in sound, that way you know what you like when you make a more expensive purchase in the future.
I think the one you found was in used condition as there isn't one for $45 new
So, if I click on the link I can get to the $45 sale... But if I look around the site for it I can't find it. Not sure what is going on there but it appears to be the new one being sold. I bought it, so I guess I will see.
I have the standing speakers to this set and like them just fine. This should be a good addition.

How much of an improvement was the SVS Ultra over Prime center?
Picked it up for a budget audio setup. Definitey a significant improvement over my Dayton C40 ($45), but falls short of my B&W CDM CNT ($600 MSRP). Took a while to break in, but absolutely no complaints for the price.
