Jamo speakers are FAR from audiophile level according to the internet. However I bough a 5.0 set a few years ago to hold me over and am still using it because to me the sound just fine. Also the white version had very high WAF.
At full price these are a joke but at this price I'd say you could do much worse
It's perfectly fine unless you're sitting super off the sweet spot. Elitist audiophiles will make tons of content talking about how it's awful, and yes, having this speaker orientated vertically would be much better for almost all situations but it's perfectly fine for the average living room where nobody is more than 25 degrees off axis of the TV anyway.

Hey look another defective by design 2 way MTM speaker.
Ever wonder why dialog sucks sometimes? MTM center channels are one major reason. Please google it to find some good youtube videos on the subject.

I also have a 5.1.2 all Jamo setup with a SVS Sub and a Denon S970H. Sounds perfect to my ears.

It is fine in many cases but I still would love to see manufacturers address the issue with a proper design at all price points.
Kind of like almost all panels now are IPS viewing angles or better. It wasn't that long ago many computer screens and TVs looked horrible at wide angles & now they don't but they don't cost more. They are all just address that issue even though most people are sitting right in front most of the time.
But whatever these are $40. Pretty darn cheap. (though as mentioned that MSRP is completely made up and exaggerated, these are $99 to $149 retail build and engineering level. Still $40 is cheap)

It's $39. It's meant to be serviceable for people on an extreme budget, likely upgrading from TV speakers, a soundbar or cheap htib. For those use cases, it'll almost certainly be a big upgrade.

Yea that opinion is all for people that go by measurements. There are sooo many other factors that come into play with what we hear. This very thread is just one example that shows the fallacy!
These excel in home theater only. Music they are pretty meh. It is impossible to have speakers the do both at high level.
I would disagree, properly implemented quality speakers can easily offer high performance for both. The common error is people often take shortcuts with HT.There is no two different definitionsof sound.
