You are mostly paying for the design. The two-section body is significantly more expensive to make.
Bingo, every additional point of seal and threads is another big manufacturing hassle. This seems to be a pretty clever design, IMO, but the use case seems oddly specific for people who want to drink from a narrow mouth and neck. And from a distance, this also screams "probable cause"
