I used a number of things but pegboard with magnets and hangers was the most effective. I also have a overhead cord reel for power and compressed air.

Depends on what you need to organize.

This racking may help, although I would be concerned about how heavy the totes can be before they no longer hold stuff. https://www.costco.com/saferacks-...77580.html

We have something like this in our garage. Our garage was long enough that we were able to take two of these racks and then take a shelf from both to connect them to almost make it like we had three but for the price of two. https://www.costco.com/gladiator-...84151.html

We have two of these in our basement for storage. Nice thing is that they are on wheels so we can easily move them when we have plumbing issues. https://www.costco.com/trinity-6-...12448.html

All products are cheaper inside the Costco warehouse.

You could also check out your local Restore and see if they have any old kitchen cabinets that could be reused for the garage.

FYI - My garage is still disorganized.

Best way to organize your piles of stuff is to NOT amass that much to begin with. Unfortunately I have not followed that advice myself and have wayyyy too much crap.

I still think alphabetically is the best & all of my filth is arranged in alphabetical order. For example, my penis stretcher is under 'H' for "toy."
