I've had this for about 2 years now. i use it for changing blades on my zero turn and removing lug nuts on our cars and truck. granted it isn't snap-on or matco torque, but it does ok.

I grabbed this back in November, but the sale price was only $100. Seems like most kobalt battery powered tool deals have been sucking lately. But if you run into a situation where you need a lot more torque to get something apart, don't bother with the XTR variant. I was trying to remove a stuck crank bolt on a Honda a couple of months back and figured I would give that one a try. I tried and tried with that one and couldn't get it to budge. I have a lot of 18v makita stuff but have been trying to transition away from it because the batteries are getting really old and the replacements are unrealistically expensive. But I was getting desperate after working on that demon car all weekend and went to a tractor supply around the corner and grabbed a Makita xwt08 and it got that bolt off in a matter of 20 seconds. That Kobalt XTR one went right back. The crazy thing is they were nearly identical in size and specs (I believe the kobalt XTR one might've had a little more breakaway torque). Not saying all kobalt tools are junk (I used the fan nonstop last summer and their multi-tool cutter is decent it seems), but it's hit or miss looking at some of their products. A lot of people on here are saying their drills and batteries die after a couple of years too (and it's a bitch to exchange). I was kind of regretting not jumping on more kobalt deals around 1.5-2 years ago, but now I'm kind of glad I hadn't. There's maybe like two more tools I may grab (if I see them on sale) such as the sds drill and the portable bandsaw), but don't think I'm investing in Kobalt on stuff I use regularly such as the drills, screw gun impacts, weed eater, leaf blower, sawzalls, or circular saws.
