This is a killer deal on a solid mid torque impact wrench. With the battery and charger too is insane!

Good enough for DIY tire rotations at home? My current Ryobi one struggles with spec torqued lug nuts....

Says 650ft-lb loosening and 500ft-lb fastening torque so should be more than enough for lug nuts

Do people use impact wrenches to tighten lug nuts? Isnt there always a risk of over tightening when using this?

Hand start it. Lowest setting (usually 1) then hit it with a torque wrench.

It's a mid-torque. You always need to pay attention and treat the tool with respect. You can shear off a decent sized bolt with 10-15 seconds on the trigger.

For lug nuts, just do it a few times, check your work with a torque wrench, and you'll get a feel for just braap-ing it on pretty quickly. It helps that lug nuts aren't exactly sensitive to torque - anywhere between 75 and 200 ftlb is basically fine for most sedans/suvs.

Bought this 2 years ago to start doing DIY car maintenance. Works amazing for getting bolts off, no issues when changing brakes, doing suspension work, etc

Good deal. That's how much the Ryobi one cost during Covid, right before the prices starting going up.
The Kobalt comes with a much nicer bag and faster charger. 650 ft-lb does everything I need, never failed me at the junkyards.

Good price, especially with a 4ah bat!

Depends on the impact and user. My Ridgid on setting 1 only tightens til the fastener stops rotating. This Kobalt does the same - The hand-tight mode automatically senses when lug nuts are snugged up against a wheel and shuts the tool off". Some people know/trust their equipment and let the impact do the tightening.

I got mine for $150.

I use it for seized nuts on vehicles and breaking stuff like hot water heater rods.

For this price it is just a steal.

In 4 1. I really need a beast for Honda harmonic balancer bolts, but that need is so infrequent. This will do for everything else.

Nice to finally have something cordless vs my IR 2131 composite.
