switchover of 15ms is better than the 20ms of Delta 2 but not as good as regular UPS or the Delta 3 plus with under 10ms

Why is it so expensive even though it's already refurbished?

499 for the delta 3 plus with the same discount code. The plus has less capacity, but dual 500w solar charge ports for a combined 1kw solar charging. In addition, the plus can do time of use charging
What is time of use charging? Is that from ac or solar? I got the regular 3, need the capacity and was planning to have it charge from a solar panel while being used.

I got the delta 3 with a 220w panel in one of the previous deals for $699. Now looking at the delta 3 plus + 400w panel for $899.Trying to understand if it turns out that the original purchase doesn't match my needs and I need to swap. Thanks!

Does anyone know if this works with a XT60 connector or does it need to be an XT60i for the solar input? Thanks

Your fridge does not need to run the entire day to keep food frozen. Can for an hour, leave off for four. Repeat. But yes, this should get you darn close to a full day.
this is already how fridges run unless you have a variable compressor

No, my 5kw system barely makes it for a LG inverter fridge with lights and some wifi stuff. It's a constant 150-250w draw.

What I failed to calculate was what the inverter uses just being on

Time of use is where, when plugged into the wall, the battery will prioritize charging during hours when electricity is cheap and run on battery as long as possible when electricity is expensive.
This matters for folks in places like welfare state California where electricity is .31c per kilowatt in the morning, and .62c in the evening. A 1.5kwh battery won't make much of a dent in the bill, but if you had a couple expansion packs it would save you a little money over time rather than sitting on a shelf waiting for the next camping trip or power outage.

The best would be to pick up a cheap 400w full size solar panel used, or two of them to connect. The portable panels are very expensive for the output.

I bought this when the ebay coupon stacked to make it $450

note it's not really a UPS

there's no brownout or overvoltage protection

note no ecoflow will charge at more than 8amps input so 12v x 8amp = 110watt limit unless you input in series at 24v 36v or 48v

the interface is quirky and doesn't work if internet is down

people have bricked units during firmware update

and firmware update will turn battery off/on so you cannot update if using it other than grid bypass

for $450 it's worth it, I would not pay more

the battery inside is 51.2volts @ 30amps

this note is incorrect. all current delta series models by spec have 15A solar input (Delta pro 3 LowPV input is 20A. and some previous generation delta like Delta mini (13A) or original delta max (10A) are lower)

you need the correct Solar XT60i input cable (EF uses XT60i middle pin bonded to negative to allow >8A "Solar". middle pin to postive limits to 8A "Car", and no middle pin bond found on most third party XT60i cables the power station is left to guess "Solar" or "Car" on it's own based on voltage and current characteristics and mis-identification is common.

https://manuals.ecoflow.com/us/pr...lang=en_US

DC Input Port (XT60) Solar Input: 11-60V⎓15A, 500W Max
Car Input: 12V⎓8A Max

Ah okay, I am misremembering the car input is limited to 8amps

But you are right the XT60 is 15amps

12volt x 15 = 180 watts

really we want 24 volts minimum for solar, higher is better for efficiency

I still do not understand how solar panels work in series for 24 volts if they have diodes to prevent voltage input

Is this good as a UPS or in between power outlet and UPS?
I have an actual UPS between this and devices because the switchover isn't fast enough for some of them. Only issue is UPSs report wiring fault when EcoFlow loses AC power. Not sure why using the battery interrupts ground connection.

How did you arrive at the power consumption? From the yellow Energy sticker? My LG fridge app gave me 1.5-1.7kwh per day usage with 50 openings a day.
I was surprised, when connected to my transfer switch at night around midnight, when everything was off I was getting 150-250 watts.
The only thing on at that time was my fridge and wifi/modem.

In addition, the plus can do time of use charging and has 10ms UPS. These are both great options for a UPS. I prefer the extra capacity of the 1500, but if you plan on increasing capacity by getting extra batteries, the dual solar charge ports make this a potentially better option. Especially when considering on a sunny day you could make up to 1,000 watts an hour and run most stuff continuously without any battery loss.
Any recommendation for cheap portable panels for car camping?

No joke about the firmware updates... you need to put the unit on a separate network if you happen to be using it to power your current network. If you disconnect during firmware update it's a real headache but not impossible to get it back found this on reddit and it got me through https://www.reddit.com/r/Ecoflow_...?context=3 but better to avoid the issue altogether.

Use this for glamping! Lots of glampers love this and make a ton of YouTube reviews about it with solar attachment. I bought one for my glamping trip. Was cooking and had everyone chill in my tent playing the Nintendo switch 2 Mario kart.
