The same product is $5.85 for 12 ounces at Walmart which is cheaper per ounce.

Instead of the water hitting the glass, sticking for a split second which really badly obstructs your view, then your wipers clearing the water so you can see clearly for another split second before more rain sticks, RainX stop ALL water from sticking to the glass and it instantly beads away allowing you to see clearly the entire time. The water looks like thousands of tiny balls of water bouncing off your window where the air carries them away so no water sticks and obstruct your view...you have to see it to believe it. I was really skeptical at first too since this was originally an As-Seen-On-TV product that I originally bought around 1994 because the advertisement seemed way too good to be true so I had to try it for myself, and I was very impressed that it actually worked well which is why I've been using it ever since then. It works well enough to where I literally never use my windshield wipers on any of my vehicles for the past 30+ years, but it has to be reapplied about every 6 months in places it rarely rains like where I live, or every 1-2 months max if you live in Washington where it rains about 220 days per year. RainX costs around $0.12 per application for the bottle sizes I tend to buy but there is another product called AquaPel that works better but at a cost. AquaPel lasts a lot longer (maybe 5x-10x longer?) but costs around 100x more per application. Even though you're paying a lot more percentage-wise per application, that amount is only about $12? and spending that much extra is worth the convenience to many people to not have to reapply it nearly as often. I used AquaPel around 2012-2014 and only had to apply it once in a 2 year span since it only rains about 10 times a year here. It cost me about $12 per applicator unit (I bought 4 to do my car, both my parent's cars, and my friend's car) and each applicator contains enough liquid for your windshield plus 2 side windows. You'll need 2 applicators to do all windows on the average sized sedan. 1 Applicator might be enough for a small truck like a Ranger without an extended cab if you only have 4 small windows total? I switched back to RainX because I have become very fast at reapplying RainX in less than 5 minutes, I have the time to do it, and I don't mind reapplying it more often to save myself that extra money compared to what AquaPel costs. Both products work equally well for me, so choosing between RainX and AquaPel is really just a matter of determining if you'd rather save a little money by doing a little more work like me using RainX, or if the convenience of not having to reapply AquaPel nearly as often is worth paying a more for that.

Probably not. Soap will probably remove it

I know the cleaner+rainX spray bottle is different/inferior, but is the spray bottle "Rain-X Glass Water Repellent Original Treatment" the same concentration as the little squeeze bottle?

For those who never tried it, RainX is the real deal. If you live in a heavy or even moderate rain environment I feel like insurance companies should pay people to use this stuff.

Great to have on hand for your motorcycle visor. I keep it on me to reapply for the foggy mornings or rainy rides

So other peole can't see even with wipers at full speed but you can see with this and no wipers? That doesn't make sense. It's not like this stuff keeps rain from hitting your windshield. Water still coats it, and continuously so it will be affecting your vision.
It beads up, and the wind just makes it fly up the windshield with ease. It's great!

I strongly disagree. If applied properly, it's downright amazing.

Even with beads that will still affect vision. If people are stopping because they can't see then there is a ton of water, so lots of water beads.
With the beads, I think your brain is able to "look" past it like a screen since the shape are fairly even. When it doesn't bead up, your brain has to decipher the landscape with more brain power.
That's the best way I can describe it.
It gives you more confidence when driving in the rain.

I bought some and used it and it does work, but i saw no real world difference in this vs the wiper fluid.

Yeah you'll need to reapply more it but i do that automatically to clean off the windshield anyway.

Does this work on shower glass to prevent steaming up and keeping it clean?
Yes, it will work anywhere you don't want water to stick to a glass, or other surfaces as smooth and hard as glass such as glazed porcelain. I've used it on my car windows of course, as well as shower glass, the outside of all my house windows, and even my parent's indoor glazed flower pots to stop water spots from collecting on the outside of them so they don't have to clean the outside of the pots nearly as often anymore. It even stops muddy water from sticking and even mud literally falls right off!

No, that big spray bottle is very diluted, similar to the RainX gallon-sized windshield washer fluid you can buy in the automotive section of most stores. It is a trade of of being slightly faster to apply but it doesn't work as well or last as long as using pure 100% concentration RainX in a bottle like this.

It works great for me lasts at least 2-3 months. First I do a deep clean of the windshield, using 0000 steel wool or whatever it is. Then I apply rain x this one, let it dry a few minutes and buff it out dry with a cloth. then let it dry a bit and then windex it clean. Depends on where you live how long it lasts how much rain how many car washes if you have to scrub bugs off your windshield often etc but even when it's almost worn out its still better than without specially in strong rain
Haven't tried steel wool, but after cleaning the window with a good window cleaning solution, I've always used a single-edge razor blade (in a holder for safety) to thoroughly clean the window down to the glass surface. Reclean with the window cleaning solution and wipe off with a microfiber towel. Apply the Rain-X, allow it to dry, and buff it out with a clean microfiber towel. I try not to use Windex over Rain-X, as the alcohol in the Windex might remove some of the Rain-X coating.

Do you apply it properly? We use it on ours, and when it's raining and people are pulled over because it's so bad out, we drive on without even using our wipers. Love this stuff.
You ever thought hydroplaning was the reason people might pull over?

Hydrophobicity......
The word is way too big for you to say or even understand.
