Worth it just for the battery, really. I've used this chainsaw for limb work, and it performs well enough. You don't need a ton of run time for that job. I'd want gas if I were harvesting trees for firewood.

I have the 16" Greenworks chainsaw and I've been using it a lot - really like it (also have the lawn mower and weed wacker so multiple batteries) - also have a Homelite gas 16 which I haven't been using at all.

How do you like that weed wacker? Is it heavy, well balanced?

I saw some Greenworks batteries for 70% off at Target in Lynchburg, VA yesterday. You might check at your local store. The 2Ah was $12 and the 4Ah was $30. The blower was on clearance too, but only 30% off.

Edit: it was the 24V batteries.

I have a slightly older greenworks 40v 14" chainsaw and tbh I wouldn't recommend it. It sits awkwardly between their pole saw (which I would recommend) for cutting branches or limbs and something higher power for cutting trees. If you are cutting limbs and branches why not just use an adjustable pole saw. For cutting small trees between 6 to 10 inches in diameter I found it really underpowered and even dangerous. It would often get stuck or sort of bouce around on the wood, would get caught, and jerk around, much much more than a higher powered (e.g. 80V or even 40 cc gas) would do.

Maybe this is a deal because the battery alone is worth this much, but I wouldn't get this chainsaw to cut down small to moderately sized trees

If it's getting stuck, this is because of improper cutting techniques due to the wood being under tension. It can also be because the chainsaw is too small for the job you are doing.

If it's bouncing, then the chainsaw is dull or isn't properly tensioned.
