Worth it just for the battery, really. I've used this chainsaw for limb work, and it performs well enough. You don't need a ton of run time for that job. I'd want gas if I were harvesting trees for firewood.

I have the 16" Greenworks chainsaw and I've been using it a lot - really like it (also have the lawn mower and weed wacker so multiple batteries) - also have a Homelite gas 16 which I haven't been using at all.

How do you like that weed wacker? Is it heavy, well balanced?

I saw some Greenworks batteries for 70% off at Target in Lynchburg, VA yesterday. You might check at your local store. The 2Ah was $12 and the 4Ah was $30. The blower was on clearance too, but only 30% off.

Edit: it was the 24V batteries.

I have a slightly older greenworks 40v 14" chainsaw and tbh I wouldn't recommend it. It sits awkwardly between their pole saw (which I would recommend) for cutting branches or limbs and something higher power for cutting trees. If you are cutting limbs and branches why not just use an adjustable pole saw. For cutting small trees between 6 to 10 inches in diameter I found it really underpowered and even dangerous. It would often get stuck or sort of bouce around on the wood, would get caught, and jerk around, much much more than a higher powered (e.g. 80V or even 40 cc gas) would do.

Maybe this is a deal because the battery alone is worth this much, but I wouldn't get this chainsaw to cut down small to moderately sized trees

If it's getting stuck, this is because of improper cutting techniques due to the wood being under tension. It can also be because the chainsaw is too small for the job you are doing.

If it's bouncing, then the chainsaw is dull or isn't properly tensioned.

I know how to operate chainsaws. I have several (two small handheld, a greenworks pole saw, a 18 inch gas, etc). I've replaced half a dozen chains, sharpened them with files, know exactly what tension they need etc. This saw is the one I use the least because its placement in that lineup is very awkward. I'll use the 6-8 inch handheld, pole saw, or gas chainsaw for different tasks, and find this 14 inch 40v one not great at anything in particular. I'm a big greenworks fan as well. I just also bought their 40v dethatcher and am very satisfied with that, so I'm not just a naysayer. I'm also not inexperienced with saws. I've cut down probably three dozen trees at this point between 5 inch to 20 inch on diameter, and I use proper techniques. There is danger in this chainsaw being underpowered for what you'd expect from a 14 incher

I have an earlier version of the brushless 14" 40v chainsaw that still works great. It works great for the intended purpose as others have said, plenty of power for big limbs or small trees. If you're going to be working for hours you'll want multiple batteries or a gas saw. Either way for this price you can't go wrong, I have no regrets with the one I have. I have many 40v batteries and never a failure, which I can't say for some other cordless brands i've had. Go for it.

I bought this bad girl: https://www.ebay.com/itm/286600169997?itmmeta=01JYM6W37F632ZAFHPEYNEZBS9&hash=item42bab38a0d:g:RhUAA... [ebay.com]

Has a 15% off code until 6/29. Only $85. For small limbing and general bad-assery I love it. It is a China clone of the Echo 2511 that sells for $500.
