For 90 days continuous service, does the phone have to actively be used? We have one we basically ported house phone number too but keep it as a spare. Can I just transfer the esim to it and leave it for 90 days or does phone have to be on that whole time

Questions I have tho:
- When should I plug the SIM into the Pixel 9 to get the 90 days timer to start? Is the timer based on activation of the hardware or activation of the plan?
- I will be using Wifi Calling since I will be in Canada and check into T-Mobile service once a month. From the rep says, I just need to have an active service for 90 days and the phone will unlock. Is this true?
- At which point I need to choose which network I want to be on?
- What is the cheapest monthly plan that will qualify for the unlock? It explicitly says US Mobile Line and didn't say any Unlimited Plan.
