The thing I REALLY like about this one and the shutoff, is it works even if power is lost. You're away on a winter vacation and lose electricity……pipes freeze and burst…..with this and the shutoff (if paired correctly) it will shutoff the house water. There are a couple of shutoffs …bulldog is one.

(Hub & Water Leak Sensor 4 with 105dB Audio Alarm 4-Pack)
$60-$12=48
Also interesting is that it doesn't even have to be YOUR hub! It can be a neighbor, or if you drive around with a door sensor you can notice alerts if it picks up any hub in distance. Where I live, I can drive around most of the city and pick up someone's hub interestingly enough (10 miles away from my home).
All the payload is encrypted I believe, so the hubs just pass data to the servers for processing.
Now the local hub gets weird. There's local handling of traffic, but it also sends to the cloud. I have not tried if that traffic can be picked up by any other hub. I'll have to try that.
